Can't believe BOMBAY DREAMS, DRACULA (or FIDDLER) lasted to the new year.

Got lots of positive feedback today on our little PR gig from last night. Seems we were a hit! Now, if those folks will only be curious enough to buy tickets so they can see the whole thing.

Good Morning!  Good Afternoon!  Good Evening!

-Just covering my bases...

I tried to post this morning before heading out of the house, but I was having some printer issues, and there were just some stuff I had to get printed out today, so...  And since I had sort of slept in today too... I just did not want to get out of bed this morning.  But I made it to rehearsal on time, and the rehearsal went as well as it could have.

It's just been a long day.  We went from Noon-4:00, then 6:00-10:00.  We were supposed to start later in the evening, but the crew requested some "dark time", so we started the evening session an hour earlier - which meant we got out an hour earlier than originally scheduled.  Cool beans!

During the break, the contractor, the drummer and I headed over to Pentagon City to grab some dinner at "Thaiphoon".  -No, it's not related to "Thaitanic", nor to "Thai One On" - yes, those places do exist in DC.  We all had very yummilicious dinners (and desserts!), then we headed back to the theatre for the second half of rehearsal.

-And we get to do it all again tomorrow!

Thank you for being my proxy, DR Tomovoz.

The Big River auditions were just a one day thing - at least for me - and said day was yesterday/Monday - seven hours.

Hallelujah, Baby! started teching today.  And after just looking at the schedule, I realized just how long a week this week will actually be for me - well, for all of us.

We basically went from Noon-10:00pm today.  Tomorrow, Noon-11:00pm.  Thursday, 1:00pm-5:00pm rehearsal call, then an 8:00 dress rehearsal.  Friday, 12:30pm Dress Rehearsal, then First Preview at 8:00.  Saturday, we just have a single show in the evening at 8:00, but the kicker is Sunday: two shows!  2:00pm and 7:30pm!  It's gonna be a long week.  -For some reason, I kept thinking we had off Thursday day.  Nope.  Ah, well...  At least the paycheck this week will be very nice.  Very, very nice.  ;)

Of course, the next week we start the 12 shows in a row "week" without a day off since we're playing straight through Christmas Eve.  We get Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off, but then we come back for one show on the Sunday after Christmas, followed by the standard Monday off after that.  -I would have rather come back for two shows on that Sunday, rather than just one if that makes sense.

OH!  But then we have a show New Year's Eve, followed by two shows on New Year's Day!  Sparkling Apple Cider for everyone!  ;)

Well, enough of my quasi-bitching about the schedule.  It's work.  I love my work.  And I actually get paid to do it too!  What's there really to bitch about?

Well... Hmm.. :-X

Well, not that amazing...  But..

This version/revisal/update of Hallelujah, Baby! recently ran up at George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, NJ.  They closed about a month ago, and the show is more or less transferring down to Arena Stage in DC.  It's a coproduction between the two theatres.

In the "downtime", some more changes have been made, and there have even been some more changes made in the past two days during the cast-only rehearsals.  And we even had two "feel" changes for two songs get adjusted during today's rehearsal.

Set-wise, the set from George Street did not transfer down here, so the actors and technicians are using the next couple of days to make adjustments to blocking, lighting, sound, etc., in the new space.

We open Friday, but Press Opening is not until next Thursday.  Then we run through February 13.

For more info about this production, just browse on over to:

http://www.arenastage.org

I don't think all the cast and show information is up yet - that's usually put up during opening week - which would be next week.

However, you can also click on the link for the fundraising auction Arena Stage is having right now.  -Actually, I keep meaning to check what the bidding looks like for the "Evening with Arthur Laurents".

Ah!  That explains the "itchies" I had last night then... Hmmm...

-Actually, I did have a case of the "itchies" last night...  I swear there's something that I'm allergic to in my parents house, but I can never seem to find the trigger.  -My mom keeps a rather spotless house since she used to have big dust and mold allergies, so... Who knows?

I'm also not used to the Central Air/Heat which makes the air in the house very dry - or at least dryer than what I'm used to in Richmond.  I tend to wake up very parched in the morning.

OH!  I'm guessing the one shiver I felt up and down my spine last night was when Brent mentioned seeing me in Houston when he was doing Leading Ladies.  ;)

Hmmm... "when he was doing Leading Ladies."  Hmmm...
