I have showered washed my hair and had a cup of coffee (with Baileys brown sugar vanilla creamer, Chas) now I must blow dry my hair and get me to the church on time
I'm actually a black coffee drinker, though I occasionally enjoy (real) heavy cream or half & half (as opposed to milk) in it, either with or without sugar. The one added flavoring I really enjoy in coffee is cinnamon, but I wouldn't do it all the time. New Orleans chicory is also an occasional treat, but few people up here in the northeast know from that and I have to trek into the deep dark recesses of NYC to even buy chicory.
It's so odd, too, nowadays, about flavored coffees. It almost seems to be the default. We were rehearsing at someone's house a few days ago and someone decided some coffee would be nice, so they asked who'd like a cup. I saw they were using a Keurig and I said I could go for a cup of "just black, thanks". When the coffee arrived it certainly was nice and black, and I took a sip in my best Twin Peaks fashion. Well, it was a FLAVORED black coffee -- which certainly wasn't horrible and I would never have said anything, but ... Oy!
And now that I'm telling this silly little story, I do recall getting some coffee at some drive-thru or other, and having to repeat that the coffee should not have any ferkakte flavors in it, as the Young Person taking the order didn't seem to understand. Again, I say ... Oy!
