After a cup of coffee I'm going to go up to the big area flea market and do a walk-through and see what kind of fleas people are selling these days.

Hope they are trained fleas. Or circus fleas.

I have showered washed my hair and had a cup of coffee (with Baileys brown sugar vanilla creamer, Chas) now I must blow dry my hair and get me to the church on time

I'm actually a black coffee drinker, though I occasionally enjoy (real) heavy cream or half & half (as opposed to milk) in it, either with or without sugar.  The one added flavoring I really enjoy in coffee is cinnamon, but I wouldn't do it all the time.  New Orleans chicory is also an occasional treat, but few people up here in the northeast know from that and I have to trek into the deep dark recesses of NYC to even buy chicory.

It's so odd, too, nowadays, about flavored coffees.  It almost seems to be the default.  We were rehearsing at someone's house a few days ago and someone decided some coffee would be nice, so they asked who'd like a cup.  I saw they were using a Keurig and I said I could go for a cup of "just black, thanks".  When the coffee arrived it certainly was nice and black, and I took a sip in my best Twin Peaks fashion.  Well, it was a FLAVORED black coffee -- which certainly wasn't horrible and I would never have said anything, but ... Oy!

And now that I'm telling this silly little story, I do recall getting some coffee at some drive-thru or other, and having to repeat that the coffee should not have any ferkakte flavors in it, as the Young Person taking the order didn't seem to understand.  Again, I say ... Oy!

This morning I shall copy new reed and violin parts for "the number," assemble the books, assemble tomorrow's work kit, and close shop on the 2017 NYMF.

I hope they are paying you for all the extra orchestrations due to key changes

One way to get even with the universe would be to write as many songs as possible in C-flat -- and make sure they call for plenty of accidentals.  The few times I've encountered this myself can best be described as traumatic, and that's putting a happy face on it.

The curse of Finale transposing is that you need to know how to edit it.  In the transposed copt of the song I was sent on Friday, one 32 bar section was in C-sharp!  I had to transpose it myself to D-flat since the clarinet would have to play in E-flat, not D-sharp.

Yes!  Keys, accidentals, etc., are a huge challenge when it comes to music software.  And it's disheartening the number of times you'll come across things, both large and small, that should have been caught and fixed before ever seeing the light of day.

finished the Wouk memoir. I like his voice. Will have to look for a couple of lesser-known works that sounded intriguing. Of course, when I finish the half-dozen books I'm reading now.

I hope reading it will be as enjoyable.  From your description I would like to hear this one.  Maybe I can find a clip of it, just to hear his voice before I begin reading.

Sunday morning greetings!  Richard and the upstairs Palmers are at their respective churches and I'm home with the cat.  I had every intention of going with Richard today until he decided yesterday to go directly from church to a shape-note sing afterwards.  It's way out in the country with nowhere interesting for me to go.  Being in the vicinity of shape-noters makes my ear buzz.

Back with no fleas, which is fine because I mainly wanted to reacquaint myself with the place and get a feel for what's out there these days -- and at what prices.

People's ideas of what even their questionable items are worth is beyond belief, of course.  But we all knew that.  The world hasn't been the same since those Golden Years of the pre-eBay/Antiques Road Show era.

But it was fun seeing it all and I'll make it a point to return now and then.

I'm on my way shortly to usher retraining. I hope my knee and hip don't give out on me. They were not terribly happy during communion this morning.

I wonder: is my cousin's husband automatically my cousin (by their marriage) also?

I've always referred to my cousin and his wife, but maybe I'm just anal retentive. ::)
