Possible TOD if anyone wants to chime in:

BK said:  "May these people suffer the rest of their lives for what they did - they won't, of course.  The wealthy rarely do.  They caused harm, which is what they intended to do.  Bravo."

So a possible question is:  Do you have any people like this in your life, either wealthy or not, who just wanted to cause harm out of spite?

After dreaming that Eddie Murphy killed me two nights ago, I thought I'd reached the outa-the-ballpark zone, but I swear last night I dreamed I was a squirrel and my best friend was a bat.

Seriously.

Very windy this morning in Austin.

Rain has taken a temporary pause.

Garbage cans have to be put out tonight for pick-up tomorrow.

If this wind persists, I wonder if garbage will be all over the street in the morning.

Will you put yours out?  I recall my neighbor a couple of blocks down calling to say my missing lid had blown all the way down to her house.

The drive back was not unpleasant until I got north of Waco. There had been an accident in Tennessee that caused a backup and it was rather brutal as it involved a trailer with a manufactured home on it. The home was destroyed and all over the interstate.

But it was clear and not too sunny until I hit West, Texas. I have to stop there for poppyseed kolaches either coming or going. And the gas was an Okay $2.15 a gallon, so I filled up. At that point, there was about 250 miles to go.

That's when the rain started and the sun set.

Waco was at a standstill, so, thanks to directions from my Waze app, I left I-35, drove through the city and eventually bypassed the whole mess, whatever it was.

Then, south of Waco, the Interstate is under construction and has been for years. It didn't stop most drivers from driving recklessly through the area.

Once I got to Georgetown, I got on the toll road to bypass the traffic nightmare that is Austin. It was a good move, as Austin was facing far heavier rains than San Antonio. It was something seeing sheets of rain sweep over the road, sometimes the waves were higher than the car, but the water on the road was never too deep to pass.

South of Austin, I got back on I-35.. I was able to drive 80 for the last 50 or so miles.

But I was exhausted. The delays added another 90 minutes after to an already too long trip. Then I had to assemble the bird's cage and it kept collapsing. I really didn't need that v
