Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

BK -  Here's a wiki list of what they consider science fiction musicals.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Science_fiction_musicals

You may want to get "Brain from Planet X" on the wiki list.  Maybe you know soemone who knows how to do that.

Oddly, "Starmites" isn't on the list, either??

Fred, in the Wikipedia listing for The Last Starfighter, it says, "The Village Theater Festival of New Musicals cast was as follows:" and lists BK and Maureen Silliman in that cast, but the Village Theater Festival of New Musicals is the one in Issaquah, Washington.  Is that something that you can fix?

The new Holiday Inn came in at the library. Don't know that I like it. The character of Laila has been turned into a dumb bimbo. And too many of the orchestrations sound as if they're cut from the same foxtrot pattern. Bing gave a quiet gravity to some of the songs and that's missing entirely. Corbin Bleu is the only performer to suggest individuality.

Still, Irving Berlin is always welcome.

I assume you're talking about the Broadway cast recording, right?  I haven't gotten that yet, but I have pre-ordered the Blu-ray edition of the movie which is supposed to include the stage version!  That won't be released until October 24. :P

Isn't there also a Halloween ballet in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn?

And of course Halloween in Applause.

There's a "Halloween Ballet" in the stage version of Meet Me in St. Louis that follows directly after the song, "Ghosties and Ghoulies and Things That Go Bump in the Night."

DR Elmore, I am amazed that you have come around so strongly in wanting a kitten.  Or maybe it's not as sudden as it seems.  I can tell you, though, your day to day life will change quite a bit!   :)

How can you not fall in love with this cutie?

So cute!! :D

Back in the day, we had The Pigman and before that The Outsiders.

I vaguely remember having to read "The Pigman" when I was in high school.  Now, of course, I don't remember a single thing about it. ::)

I spent over an hour today wrestling with the medical maze, i.e., the UCLA medical bureaucracy. I think all is well; I think it was a false alarm. I changed my primary care physician this morning and was told that I may be charged for my visit with my new PCP last Tuesday, because he wasn't officially my PCP then. UCLA says he was, my insurance says no. None of this garbage has anything to do with actual medicine--it's all bureaucratic BS. Arrrggghh! Mercury retrograde may be officially over, but this sounds very Mercury retrogradish to me.

Fred, lovely story about your parents. I had no idea your father had been through so much. I hope they are safe and comfortable and are spared losses.

Jeanne - thanks so much!

I suspect there will be property damage at their apartment, but hopefully no damage to themselves.

The New York Musical Festival reading in 2006 (with this cast that includes BK and Maureen) was actually a presentation with the Village Theatre.  So that may be why someone was confused.  The cast list isn't really what's wrong, it's the name of the Festival, which someone must have changed over the years.

I'm worried that if we try to question the content, someone may take down the page for the show, though, or remove the list rather than replace it.   That happened when I tried to put up my own bio on wiki.

The cast list is referring to this at the top of the page:

A staged reading which involved moderate revisions of music, lyrics, and book was presented at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival, starring Brian Earp (Alex) and Jessica Skerritt (Maggie).

Well, I need to leave work now and go to my sister's before I go to the theater.  She's holding a PFLAG garage sale at her house tomorrow and wants to set up their canopy tonight so that it'll be ready in the morning for the hoards of garage sales buyers.  Fortunately, it's not difficult and it doesn't take too long, but you need several people to do it.

Be back later.

Watching the Men's Semi Finals of the US Open....good games.

I went with my oldest brother Mike this afternoon to a viewing for the wife of our cousin - she passed away on Monday.....  Not a lot of folks, but a nice room full.....  Sue was a nice lady who raised two good kids, and then stepped in and did a lot to raise several of her grandchildren as well....

Sue and her fiance were driving home from Chicago in the rain back in the mid-1960's, her fiance lost control of the car......he was killed and she lost the sight in one eye.

A couple of years later, she met my cousin Will, and soon after they were married.  They were also involved in a car accident.....in Will's Corvair....they both narrowly escaped death....

Went through more boxes - tossed a lot of VHS and Beta crap, found my old Beta machine (worth anything?) and unfortunately found a ton of my old newspaper movie sections - unfortunate because I then spent three hours looking through them again.  Now I must get ready for the opening night.

I read the Pigman in junior high. It was about two teenagers , a boy and girl, who befriend an elderly man name Mr Pignati who has a house full of pigs (not real ones)
