DR FJL I like all of your quotes better than the one I'm not using.

I hope you will give be the appropriate credit when you don't use them.  :)

DR JANE - the committee is focused on other things - I do not want to add to their burden.

The chairperson wants a quote added to the last slide in the memorial.....I did it, but then I took it out.  I chose the backgrounds and the music to create a certain mood so that when the show ends the audience feels a certain way.....adding those words changes the mood....and NOT for the better....I will tell her sooner or later....

"Do not fear growing old, it is a privilege denied to many."

Come on!  What a downer - I am sure some of the passings if not  ALL will be a shock to several folks, why hit them in the face with it?

Oh well.....I'm still not going to add it back in.

Good choice, Jrand.  That quote really doesn't fit with what you've described. :-\

Or you could have the song, "Human Heart" from Once On This Island playing.  That's a wonderful song.

Yesterday there was a $5 sale on a digital version of The Band’s Visit. Really enjoying it.

I bought the physical CD directly from Ghostlight and it just arrived today!  I also just received (in a second package, but ordered in the same order) the new London cast recording of Working, with two new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda.  I didn't realize that he had actually written them in 2008 and this is the first recording that uses them.

One Harvey story I forgot to put in the notes but one I've told over and over again - long before I wrote the first Kritzer book, we were supping somewhere and I told him about my grandfather and "What is it, fish?" - well, he thought that was the funniest thing he ever heard and laughed so loud everyone in the restaurant turned to look.  For the next three or four weeks he'd call every day and bellow into the phone in that delicious Texas drawl that elmore mentioned and say, "What is it, fiiiiiiish?"

Ro add insult to injury, that 40 lbs of kitty litter sits under the mail boxes because my good friend Val, who said yesterday he would take care of getting it to me, hasn't.  I deliberately ordered it to arrive yesterday since the elevators were supposedly ready.  Did I order it for my health? No, but I sure need it.

I hate it when people piss on my shoes and try to tell me it's raining.

That's a great song.  I hear the "Once on This Island" revival is great, but I'm worried about buying well in advance since they seem not to make cast absences public even when they know them in advance for some reason which is unusual or Telecharge shows.  I'll try to get there just before show time so i can buy after seeing the understudy board.

I really enjoy the new cast recording.

The next-door neighbors are getting a new roof, and there has been banging all day long. That's not a complaint, merely an observation.

Tomorrow's produce box will contain mangoes. They've never given out mangoes before.

New roofs tend to have fire safety regulations so this is likely a good thing for you.

It's been raining most of the day. Not too heavily, but steadily. We need this rain. We had lots of snowpack a year ago, when the drought ended, but not so much now.

TOD:

Two films I quite liked in the past week:

VICTORIA AND ABDUL
Judi Dench must have had great fun saying, "I am the queen!"

GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN

Not sure what I'll watch tonight.

The redbud trees are showing their true colors again. Just seeing them makes me happy.

Redbuds are very pretty. There were a couple of them near my first Virginia townhouse.

Oops. Jane, the only MAIGRET shows I've seen are the Atkinson and Gambon. I hadn't known there was another.

DR FJL I will be sure to give your credit for the quotes I don't use - that makes more sense than some credits I see these days.

DR GEORGE I like that song, but I am only using music from 1964-1968 the years we were in high school.

That sound like the perfect time period for some Petula Clark.

Actually, I think Mrs. Miller's cover of "Downtown" also hit the Top 100 during that time.  How could anyone forget:
