Did you know Midwest Airlines (used to be Midwest Express) bakes chocolate chip cookies in flight? I think it's wonderful......

I never knew those cookies were freshly baked--I just used to assume they were warmed up via a microwave.

I used to fly business class on Midwest all the time between Milwaukee and Philly and the food was always wonderful.  Meals were served with real linen and silver (and I might be mis-remembering, but there might have also been a small vase and a small flower.)  Unfortunately, once our company went into liquidation, we've been forced to ride the nightmare known as US Airways.  Stale peanuts, anyone?

When I was a teenager, I was on our town's swimming team in the summer. (Our school didn't have a swim team; nor a pool!)

Anyway, after every morning of intense practice, we'd head to the local bakery, and my favorite thing was what they called a Cream Horn. It was like a giant croissant filled with whipped cream. Oh, it was to die for!

I also liked tea cookies with a dollop of icing in the center of them. Oh, I could eat my weight in those!

Sorry, everybody, about that long URL I put in an earlier post.  I've taken it out, which should alleviate the cinemascope effect some of you were getting.  If anyone, besides me, is interested in the NY debut of the Illinois State University Wind Symphony, just go to www.lincolncenter.org and in the calendar of events choose the date March 20.

What are your thoughts?

This is, of course a followup question to #1, I am not actually asking you to reveal ALL your thoughts, particularly as I haven't even offered you the requisite penny.. or PennyO

Good Morning!  Good Afternoon!

Ah, sleep... ;)

Of course, since I've woken up, I've had a case of the sniffles... Hopefully, it's just a case of the morning sniffles.

In other news...  I think I'm going to fast today - and possibly tomorrow - but most likely today.  My dietary intake yesterday consisted mainly of bread, donuts, cake and muffins.  Yes, all the bread, donuts, cake and muffins were very good, but I'm actually feeling "fat" this morning, so...  Stress and food... Ah, well...

Just thought you'd like to know...

-Of course, with all this talk about pastries...  And I read an article in the NY Times about that new cream puff place in NYC...  Something else to look forward to when I head up there in March!

;)

yesterday  I had ham casserole or as DH calls it,  "Heart Attack en Casserole"

I don't know what he's talking about, just because you use a stick of butter, a couple of eggs and a quart  of sourcream and a pound or so of minced baked ham and a bag of egg noodles.....
