I'm trying to figure out the relationship between Kristofer Tabori and Don Siegel. We had a handyman once - Noel Siegel - and he was Kristofer's half-brother. Siegel was married to Doe Avedon and Viveca Lindfors... Okay, Lindfors was Tabori's mother - so Siegel was either his father of stepfather and Noel was probably Avedon's son. And I don't know who the hippie was. Maybe Siegel's cousin, Moe.

Tonight I watched a truly bizarre flick on TCM: Tomorrow The World, about a Hitler youth who is taken in by a WWII era American family (and an Anne Tyler fractured family, at that.) It started off rather silly, as the family welcomes and attempts to mainstream this Li'l Adolph into their world. But as the movie progressed and we see how this kid bullies, manipulates and lies his way through this Donna Reed community, it became suspensfully engrossing and at times disturbing. The kid who played the part would certainly give Patty McCormack a run for her money. And there is the most violent fist fight I believe I have ever seen in a movie from this era and it takes place between two young boys. Unfortunately, the movie tacks on a completely unbelievable and unrealistic ending that just about makes the entire film worthless. And of course, the whole thing is basically propaganda. But still, the movie did have its moments.

DtM the young Adolph was played by Skippy Homeier who had done the role on Broadway - and went on to several grown up roles, including, if I am not mistaken, the guy who shoots Gregory Peck in THE GUNFIGHTER and suddenly realizes his own fate as the "man who shot.......the man....."

I think you're right about the parentage DRPANNI. It sounds right anyway. He was born Christopher Donald Siegel. He was "adopted" or "adopted" the surname of his stepfather George Tabori (next husband of Viveca.

And yes MR BK, Bud Cort is credited in SWEET CHARITY as a Hippie!

...And it's a good thing I am staying in Fairfax tonight, since my brother, Michael, needs a babysitter tomorrow to watch my niece, Alyssa. This is the same Alyssa, who until recently, would run screaming and crying from me every time I would try to get near her. She's still a bit "reluctant" towards me, but...

She'll be here tomorrow around 10:30 until Noon. And since my Dad will be going back into work tomorrow(!!!!!), she will not be able to run and hide with "Papa". I have a feeling she'll be spending most of her time clinging to the front door and crying, but...

We shall see...

-At least we're stocked up on "Gold-pishhh" and juice cups.

DR Danise - I went to CompUSA. There was a large kiosk display by the digital camera and PDA display cases.

As for software, most of it was games (solitaire variations, arcade stuff, etc.). But there were also Pocket PC versions of Money, Streets and Trips, calendar and scheduling programs, etc. I knew all that stuff was out there, I had just hadn't actively looked at any of it.

As for accessories - portable, folding keyboard (full-size keys!), battery pack attachments, other "packs" which allow you to use compact flash cards and PCMCIA cards (like the ones you would use for a laptop), etc.

As for a modem, most of the modem cards would require one of the add-on "packs" since they would require extra battery power to run. Wired (with a phone jack in them) and wireless modems are available. Surprisingly, most of the modems run between $60-80. However, the "packs" run about $150, so... I did see a listing for a wireless modem/network card that can plug right into the Pocket PC slot, but they didn't have one in stock.

When I got home, I started researching a bunch of stuff on the web. There is a LOT of stuff out there. There was one technical site which sort of helped, but it was a bit too technical (even for me, and I usually like all that specificity). But there are also a lots of vendors that sell software and hardware for PDAs/Pocket PCs. Just "google" your Pocket PC make and model number, and a bunch of listings will come up. -That's what I did.

In the meantime, here are a few of the sites that had some real cool stuff:

*There is some very good information on the site, but, again, there is a lot of technical jargon to wade through depending upon what you are looking for.

Oh! I also got a nice listing from my manufacturer's website. I just plugged in the model number, and a whole listing of accessories came up - even stuff made by a third party. Of course, this was one of the last places I looked. DUH!
