I'd love to hear the Busker Alley songs again as done by the original cast. I saw the show twice in its last two weeks. Brett's' part was almost written out as they worked on the script.

The credits on Paddington 2 are a scream and continue one of the Sondheim jokes.

Thanks for the good wishes on my trip.   I’m really looking forward to tonight’s show.  Both Melissa Manchester and Roz Kind!   Not to mention Mr. BB.

For those who are upset that they can't see Melissa Manchester, here's one of the weirdest mash-ups I ever did.  It might have been better if I'd sprung for Brent Barrett or Kevin Spirtas to sing it.  :)

"For Crying Out Loud" - The Les Miz waif hoping to see Hugh Jackman's high-priced SRO Bway show -

Good stuff there, Fred. That's a song that deserves to take a good beating.

I feel wiped out today, which should come as no surprise, given the week I've had. Ugh!

TCB, great suggestion last night! I discussed the housing situation with a good friend and both of us spoke in terms of hotels. Said friend runs an Airbnb! I'll check B&Bs and Airbnbs.

Jane, thank you for your generous thoughts. When I bought my car I joked that I chose a hatchback in case I needed to sleep in my car. That is one option.   ;)

Thanks, John G!  Sometimes, you look back at something and wonder whether the time you spent on it was even worth it, and other times wonder if it might have somehow worked better if you'd put moire work into it.  :)

I loved while Jan Horvath was doing those spontaneous bits as the Hugh-hungry waif.  Spontaneity - if you plan it hard enough...

This morning when I was doing laundry I ran into my neighbor downstairs. They've been repainting his place. He's been there over 40 years. He and his late partner repainted 25 or 30 years ago. Nothing had been done since. The paint was peeling off the walls. His floor needs to be replaced. He's thinking he needs to move out. He told me that once they did pay for him to stay in a hotel.

Thanks for the mention of PADDINGTON 2, John G. It sounds like something I'd like. I haven't seen PADDINGTON, so I'll start there. It's even available on streaming.

I haven't seen Paddington. Let me know if it's worth it.

Watching on of Alain Resnais' last films, You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet. The man was certainly influenced by Folloiws, as we know because it was on the basis of that score that he hired Sondheim to do the Stavisky score.

In this film, two casts of a director's previous productions of Anouilh's Eurydice are called together after the director's death to watch a filmed version of a new cast. Soon, the actors of the previous productions take over the roles and relieve the show with all of the knowledge that they've gained in the intervening years. Roles of youth are played out before their eyes and then reenacted through the patina of age. Do we learn anything? Do we learn enough? Are the follies of youth the same follies of early middle and late middle age?

I had seen this at the movies and had forgotten about it, yet images just started coming back recently. For several weeks, I couldn't remember the name, the director, the cast (fairly famous French actors and Resnais regulars). Thankfully, the library had a copy.

I'm going dancing tonight. Should be fun. If the AC is working. It's over 100 degrees out there.

To make up for being late, I worked parking garage duty. In this heat, no more than 10 should get into an elevator. There isn't enough air.

That is encouraging.  It seems to me they should be required to cover your expenses.

Or hoping you will get fed up and move so they can fix it up and rent it for more money.
