Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of music, music, music, and now it is time for you to post until the musical cows come home.

Topic of the Day:  I don't care for a lot of soups, but Costco had a chicken tortilla soup that was really good, and for a while they also had a tomato bisque that I liked.

I will need to think about the Topic of the Day.  I love good soups, so I will have to organize my answers.

Jerry's Deli has great soups, one thing they do really well.  My favorites there are their chicken matzo ball soup, creamy tomato bisque, and creamy chicken.  Their clam chowder is really good, too.  And I always forget they have them so I never order them.  And their actually reasonable - their cup is actually huge, their bowl you can't finish.  So if, for example, I had soup and my small Caesar I could probably get out of there for about fifteen bucks.

I like some of the Campbell's chunky soups.  I used to enjoy the cream of asparagus soup, and of course I use the cream of mushroom soup in Wacky Noodles.

Wanda Richert, the original Peggy Sawyer in Gower Champion's 42nd Street shared this video on Facebook.  She played Cassie  in A Chorus Line in the 1980 first national company tour - she was only twenty-one at the time, so a decade too young for it.  This is a tech rehearsal in San Francisco.  Her acting is lovely, her singing is fine, but I, who have seen dozens and dozens of great Cassies, have never seen this number danced quite like this, and let me tell you that includes you-know-who - there is an energy, a ferociousness at play here that is breathtaking.  And I've had so many arguments with people how, only two years later, they began dragging the tempo in the final thirty seconds of the number - horribly so when I saw it in 1982 here - I couldn't believe it - those last five beats were like a funeral dirge and it robbed the number of it's build and powerhouse finish.  It was that way in the revival and in every production I've seen since 82.  And you know what people have tried to tell me?  That I'm just remembering it wrong and from the cast album, where most of the tempos were faster than the show to help fit as much material as they could on the LP.  Well, guess what - I wasn't wrong, I was absolutely correct - I knew it then and I know it now - and here is the video to prove it.  Listen to that tempo in the last thirty seconds - it doesn't slow up, it SPEEDS up as it should.  Anyway, this is a rather amazing performance and I wrote a nice thing on the YouTube page.  If you like it write something and be sure to tell her Bruce-O sent you to it. :)   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toSkjchQt2o&feature=youtu.be

thanks to all for the comments - perhaps we will learn more today...

The Dinning Sisters - their brother Mark had a big hit with "Teen Angel" in the late 50's.  And it always bothered me that Teen Angel in GREASE was a guy because the teen angel in the original song was a GIRL!!!!

I like Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup....I also like the Progresso Soups....especially the Roasted Chicken and Noodles.

My mom liked the Homestyle Chicken & Noodle from Great Value, I still have several cans in my pantry which I will enjoy as the season turns cool.....

Lobster bisque
Manhattan clam chowder
Portuguese garlic soup
Chinese chicken and vegetable soup
Too many more to think of

John McGlinn's father was a vice preside4t for Campbell.  Whenever I purchase a can of Campbells chicken or beef broth I think of him.

TOD:
For canned soup, I like Progresso, although I've been frustrated that they now only have three flavors that I like that don't have beans. They used to make several others without beans, but then started adding them, I assume because beans are cheap and filling.
I used to make a homemade brown rice and lentils soup, but I haven't made it in several years - I've gotten too lazy.
I agree, Jerry's Deli matzo ball soup is the best! I haven't tried any of their others.

Congrats to DR CHAS SMITH on ANNIE success...that show is a crowd pleaser.

DR JOHN G....I might have played it better with a cane....then FDR could have danced with Annie.
