Rodzinski, Garner's Wyatt Earp in HOUR OF THE GUN is, if memory serves, a rather nuanced performance of a driven man going too far. Haven't seen it in years, so I don't know if it still holds up.

Still I'll always love him for Americanization of Emily; The Great Escape; and Support Your Local Gunfighter...if nothing else. He was also right about Nichols being a wonderful show.

I'm back. I wish I could say I agree with elmore, but I just thought Hide and Seek was awful. I do like watching De Niro and I like the little girl, but I get so tired of these "fake" scares and red herrings, although you could see every fake scare coming for at least a minute before it happened. It was all done competently, except for the script, which just made no sense to me in the grand scheme of things. However, we had a surprise second feature - he ran a pristine 35mm print of Double Indemnity. Pogue and I had been discussing it the other day, and it was great to see it again.

I am currently watching a bizarre Robert Forster movie from 1970 on Fox Movie Channel. Extreme low budget and soft focus. Sondra Locke and Sam Waterston are also in it. Called "Cover Me Babe". Forster's character is essentially inventing "reality" cinema ahead of its time.

Pogue, this is a guy in Burbank who I've known for years. He has an office on Hollywood Way and in said office is a screening room. He has screenings on many Saturday nights and I go occasionally if he remembers to invite me.

And like MacBeth's witches, I must ask "When shall we three (Okay, four) meet again? In thunder,lightning, or in rain (didn't we just go through all that out here?)? When the hurly-burly's done (Is it ever?), When the battle's lost and won (Huh? Don't even go there). That will be ere the set of sun, (can't make that, have my girl call your girl.) Where the place? (someplace with plenty of parking) Upon the heath (no, no alfresco dining) , there to meet MacBeth (I thought we'd just meet BK...or is MacBeth the restaurant?...Anything like Musso's? Robert Forster movie ludicrously ended. You gotta hand it to Fox Movie Channel. There is no rhyme or reason to their movie schedule. This raunchy 1970 head trip was followed by Anna and the King of Siam.

I feel pie day was an international success.

Good Evening/Morning!

I'm here. I'm here. I just transferred all my "work files" from my old laptop to my new laptop. It actually didn't take that long at all since there really wasn't that much to transfer.

-It was sort of depressing actually realizing that all my Word, Encore, pictures, etc., only amount(ed) to about 200MB of stuff. However, that made the transfer of the info quite easy. I simply saved everything to the pocket drive, then stuck that into my new laptop, and transferred it all onto the new hard drive. I even burned a few CDs as backups.

In the meantime, I started looking up Mac equivalents for some of my software... More stuff to add to the "Wish List". However, there are only two programs I need to buy, so...

OK - Lemme get back to reading the posts from today... If I don't make it back until "tomorrow"...

The second performance was much better all around. I did not make a mistake anywhere (whew!) and the audience really liked all the barbershop singing. Anyway, after the show, I took off on my own and went to the local Shari's. I had the country skillet (cut-up chicken fried steak on top of potatoes, onions and peppers, covered in country gravy and eggs). M-M-Good! And Shari's must have known that today was Pie Day at HHW, because it's actually Pie Month there! Any pie is $5.99! If you want just one slice, it can be $2.99, but the whole pie (six pieces) is $5.99! So I had to buy the whole pie. I actually had them cut me a half-sized piece to eat at the restaurant and took the rest home. It shall be consumed over the next few days.

Easiest place to get them (hardcover or softcover) is amazon.com. Just search my name under books - the three titles are Benjamin Kritzer, Kritzerland, and Kritzer Time. If you want signed hardcovers, which come with a limited edition CD of songs featured in the book sung by our very own Guy Haines, then go to our main page where the notes are featured. On the left you will see several icons and just click on Kritzer Novels. That will take you to a new page and just look over to your right and you'll see a menu bar - all three books are there and available.

I didn't have pie today... But I did have a very good empanada at lunch today - as well as a wonderful tamale. The empanada was filled with the usual ground beef and vegetables, but the tamale was a little unusual in that it was wrapped in banana leaves and it was filled with chicken, olive and potatoes. Quite tasty! And only $1.00!

I shall cleverly ask for them as a Valentine's gift from the Gal. I think she was already going to get me Penn & Teller's show which I asked for even prior to hearing of any BK involvement. With luck, I'll get all of the above. In any case, the books will be mine.

...And I would have had pie for dessert tonight after dinner (between shows), but they did not have any pie on the dessert menu. So instead, I "settled" for their totally decadent Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding which is served with a Warm Rum Sauce and Bananas.

...Guess who's working out in the morning?!?!?
