DR Amy, thanks for posting. I'm very glad to hear that you and Mark are OK and are safely back home.

Vibes to all who are affected by the fires.

Brian came by to help with a little apartment issue. It only took about ten minutes and now he's on his way home.

Yesterday was not a fun day. Mom got a call from a neighbor who said she found Dad wandering in her backyard. Mom said he must have left while she was doing laundry. My sister was planning on going on, so she did so. I really don't know what they worked out, other than they're trying to have a stronger trip alarm in place whenever the doors open.

That's terrible, John.  Glad that your dad is safe!

John G., I'm glad your father was found quickly. I hope they can work something out so it doesn't happen again.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts and prayers about Dad. My mother has to make the decision on what to do next. She has made that clear. We are there to help her. It's all we can do.

Yes, it is her decision.  It is good though that you are all talking about it.

My Dad went walkabout one night and was found after he tripped on a pothole in the dark.   He was about 3/4 of a mile from home.

My mom hid his shoes after that, he wouldn't walk outside in just his socks

DR John do you think this would work for your father?

TOD from yesterday:
Mark and I were evacuated at 3:00 am Friday morning, as we live in Thousand Oaks. It was horrible. We spent two hours packing and filled both our cars to the brim with valuables, including a cat and a dog. We didn't know where to go. We headed to my office in Woodland Hills to store some stuff, and started calling hotels. They were all booked, or didn't take pets. We finally found one that was booked, but some people had checked out early. We were so lucky in that regard. We had to buy a bunch of stuff at Target, like a cat box, litter, and toiletries for us. We ate sub sandwiches in the room for dinner. We slept that night, and  were going to stay for the next day, but there was a screw-up at the front desk and they couldn't see our reservation was through Sunday and they kicked us out at noon. I had friends who said they had just gone home, even though the evacuation order was still in place, so we did the same. When I got to our neighborhood it was as if there never was an evacuation, people and cars all up and down the streets - hilarious. We got the phone call at 7:30 pm last night saying the evacuation order had been lifted, whew! The air quality is terrible, but I have a mask for going outside.

Great news about you being able to go home, Amy!

Good news that you’re safe, Amy. I just saw that Robin Thicke and Shannon Doherty lost their homes.

Oh, no.  I'd first read headlines about Caitlyn Jenner's losing her house, but now there are reports that it wasn't damaged.

Finished Eric Idle's Always Look on the Bright Side of Life: A Sortabiography. Very funny stuff. Loved the tales of Spamelot. Though he had nothing but horror stories about Baron Munchhausen, it remains a favorite of mine.

Speaking of Spamelot, someone told me that they'd heard that Spamelot the musical was going to be made into a film.  I don't know if that's true or not, though.

My loofah has started to produce fruit. Strange during a week in which we're expecting frost.

I have images of your loofah sponge growing fruit in your shower.

That's exactly what I was thinking! :))

Back from a fun recording session, which went very well and pretty quickly.  We began at ten and wrapped by three and got all nineteen songs.  Some folks had never done a session before so I had to get them over their nervousness, while I had to be stronger with a couple of folks because they fudge stuff onstage that I let slide or they sing a wrong word here and there - so here I had to insist on no fudged notes and all correctly lyrics - and because people learn things wrong it is hard for them, but I just kept on about it and eventually got it all correct.   I have some photos to share in the notes.

That's great, BK!  I can't wait to get the CD!  I'm getting mine through the Indiegogo campaign.

I also sorted through a bunch of things that I bought as gifts

My family picks names out of a hat and we each get one gift for one person.

Today, my friend Margo and her sister who's visiting from Minnesota went to see The Grinch in IMAX (but not 3D).  They enjoyed it.

Afterward, I met them and another friend at the Budd Bay Café for an early dinner.  I had the Rajun’ Cajun Caesar Salad with the blackened chicken.  It was quite good.

I am pretty confident about the first act, but a little less confident in Act II.
