T.O.D.
I don't think I was ever "obsessed" with any play or musical I saw.
I was five-years-old when I saw my first play, HARVEY w/Joe E. Brown. Still have memories of it.
Next play was a few years later: OKLAHOMA! It was the National company and I don't recall any of the cast.
As a teen, I made it a point to see many road shows that visited Seattle: THE MUSIC MAN w/Forrest Tucker and Joan Weldon; MY FAIR LADY w/Michael Evans; THE DESPERATE HOURS w/William Gargan, Richard Jaeckel and Nancy Colman; THE CAINE MUTINY COURT-MARTIAL w/ Paul Douglas, Wendell Corey, Steve Brodie and Robert Lowery; BYE, BYE BIRDIE with Bill Hayes and Joan Blondell; CAMELOT with Kathryn Grayson, Louis Hayward and Arthur Treacher; DAMN YANKEES! w/Bobby Clark.
We also had the Cirque Playhouse that imported stars to appear in plays with local actors: John Carradine, Reginald Gardner, Jane Darwell, Sterling Holloway, Charles Winninger, Edward Everett Horton, Rita Moreno, Stuart Erwin, Julie Haydon, Mercedes McCambridge,....
The one I do remember very well was Edward Everett Horton. Watching him work on stage was watching a master do his craft.
