I wonder what DR Ginny will have to say about TCB'S Ohio comment, but then he did iinclude the beautiful state of Utah so it was obviously a joke..

When we lived in Michigan I often went to Ohio.  Toledo has the Museum of Art and other places of interest.  There is Cedar Point. In Cleveland the Music Hall of Fame.  And best of all is DR Ginny.

I couldn't figure out how to turn on the TV (not that there are any English language channels other than BBC World and CNN International).  I called the front desk.  I was asked: "Did you push the red button at the top of the remote?"    "Yes."   "Push the number 1 instead."    Oh, okay!  That worked!   Who would have known?

Vixmom, a friend of mine is a set constructor and dresser. He had done that kind of work in Connecticut theaters, then last year he began getting work on various TV shows filming in the NYC boroughs. He did well at it from the get go and quickly advanced. It’s hard work, and beyond that, I don’t know much about it, but he loves it. He’s also one of our good local directors and actors. Of course, none of this digression answers your question.

But it is interesting.

This is great sleeping weather.  If I did not have two cats, I'd sleep the day away.  I have so little work at the moment, I'd rather go to bed and stay there.

For me I could have stayed in bed all morning cuddling with my cats.

Birdy Barnum was taking a bath in his drinking water yesterday....so I put a small bowl of fresh water in his cage for him to frolic in.  And frolic he did.  And then of course gave him fresh drinking water.

Patrol over, but today's litter cleanup was an ordeal, and I'm trying to analyze why it became such a problematic issue.

Some days they just are, DR Elmore. Around here, no two days are all that alike.

I just made an egg sandwich. Kind of. When you cook something and are still making up your mind what it should be, as you're cooking it, the result is rarely a rousing success. But since you can't go too wrong with a couple of eggs and some toast, this was okay.

I toasted two slices of bread, fried two eggs, and decided to lay the toast on the plate and put the eggs on top. First off, I accidentally broke one yolk, so right there the project was compromised. But I went ahead with it. The end result was a little dry. But I hadn't even thought of adding cheese or, literally, anything else, so whaddaya expect. It still gets the job done.

Hmm. I wonder if a book of half-assed recipes like that one would sell.

My favorite egg sandwich is what I call the Alice, after the 1st floor neighbor who gave me the recipe: 2 slices of good grain bread, 2 eggs made into an omelet, ranch dressing, and lots of alfalfa sprouts.

Wednesday morning greetings!  After 3 up-and-outta-here days, I'm taking it very slow this morning.  We fixed ourselves a nice bacon & egg breakfast and enjoyed the newspaper together.

LOL!  When I was finishing grad school in Michigan and looking for a job, I said I'd go "anywhere but Ohio."  But there were lots of opportunities here and I gladly joined Miami University for what turned out to be a perfect first job.  My intention was to build my resume and stay 3-5 years, but my first job turned into an opportunity for promotion and, then, there was this guy...

So, almost 46 years later here I am!

Keith's mother was close to a cousin in Toledo.  When she visited us I would invite a friend to go with me to drop Mom off in Toledo.  One time we took her to the museum first and another time to some lovely gardens.  I can't recall the name.  DR Ginny do you know of gardens near there?

Keith, and sometimes the boys, would go with me on Sunday to pick her up and spend time visiting.

DR Jane, there's Toledo Botanical Garden, but I don't know much about it.  We're a good 3-hour drive from Toledo and by the time I get there, I'd just as soon drive another hour and be in the Ann Arbor area or at my sister's house.  I've heard good things, though, about the art museum.

I like today - I have the doors open and the storm door screens open so we can get some nice fresh air.  And I opened the window in the computer room so Birdy Barnum and hear what's going on outside.  I put a bit of seed on the stone front under the window, but no bird has stopped by for a snack yet....
