Well, I'll be...I missed the big event whilst sitting on my tush watching WANTED: DEAD OF ALIVE...although it was a good episode. I never understood the appeal of Steve McQueen, but after watching a couple of episodes of this show, I can see why he became so popular...he was a mighty fine actor.

I must say, the Oscars haven't really been the same since they moved the date up and moved them to Sunday, in an effort to have the ratings count at a more important time of year.

Who will be tuning in to the pre-pre-pre shows?  Which is the best to watch?  And do people really arrive at three o'clock?

I just remembered

Stephen Sondheim will be a guest programmer on TCM in celebration of his 75th Birthday.

Here is the page to go to http://www.turnerclassicmovies.com/ThisMonth/Article/0,,90464,00.html

Only 1 film was predictable. At least to me

No, Hudson Heights isn't it.  Jen Piech lives there, and so does Michele Pawk.  I hate when I can't remember things.

I'm going to buy cupcakes.  I'll be right back.

Hopefully, someone can chime in with the name of the area by the time I'm back.

Oscar-day greetings!  Sorry I missed the 100,000 milestone, but Congratulations to us all.

Just returned from a Big Read kickoff event at an independent bookstore in Centerville, OH, called Reader's Choice.  It's so nice to be waited on by someone who knows books and cares about them.

Then I stopped at Dorothy Lane Market www.dorothylane.com and purchased some asssorted deli items for our pre-Oscar supper.

Even though we've seen 3 of the 5 Best Picture nominees (Sideways, Finding Neverland, and Million Dollar Baby) I don't have any emotional investment.  Probably won't see it to the end, either, because tomorrow's a work day.  See y'all on the red carpet!

Cabrini Blvd is officially above what we call Washington Heights - it is in a lovely area called Inwood, right at the fabulously serene Cloisters. A gawjust place - and exactly where I sublet that apartment when i first got here in October - and that bit@# nightmare screwed me up, etc...

So, how did PennyO miss the major milestone?? Well, I was down at 43rd and 9th, standing outside of the Jewtopia matinee, thrusting my flyers into the hands of theatergoers, from 2:15 until 3 pm. Ah, the life of a diva!

Which made the playwright write:

DIARY OF A MAD PLAYWRIGHT How I toured with Mary Martin and Carol Channing and lived to tell about it.

Well he didn't so the book was released after his death and retitled

This is the reissue cover. The original had a picture of James in a straightjacket

Well, I have a whole kitchen filled with dirty dishes that ain't gonna clean themselves, so I'm heading out...for now.  I also have to shower and shave.  But mainly, I have a lot of dishes to clean.  They were left over from last night.  So, bye for now.  I'll be back for the Oscar stuff!  And again, HAPPY 100,000TH POST!!

So, it's above Washington Heights.  That's fine, I suppose, but I could have sworn it had its own name.
