We are home from the vet.  Annabelle is indeed sick and she has a fever.  She was dehydrated so she was given fluids and I have  a prescription to give her for the next week.  I knew she was sick.  She was not doing any of her usual things like climbing onto my lap to watch TV, pestering me in the morning to patrol and helping me clean the litter, chatting to me as I work, and climbing all over my work table.

At the vet she seemed frightened, and she either hanged on to me or took safety in the carrier.  Usually she leaps all over the office and explores.  My little girl is sick.

Poor baby.  I hope she feels much better simply having been hydrated.  Is she contagious?

Oh no!  I am so sorry to hear this and glad that you ignored my ignorant advice about waiting...Daddy knows best.

The place was packed , once the verdict was announce there were cheers from some tables and dead silence from or mutters from the rest of them

I am shocked anyone cheered the verdict.

There were some people who felt the charges were not based on evidence but on racial bias

I didn't meet those people.  Admittedly he got off due to the proven racial bias.

Jane only has 9,961 more to go!

She'll have done by next week, won't you, Jane?

Sure.

Poor Annabelle!

From the description, I have to wonder if this is a (somewhat delayed) reaction to the new kitty microbes. Well, the fluids should help considerably. What other medication does she have? Antibiotics?

Feel better fast, girl!

Twenty-five year ago today I was staying at my father's house in Culver City, not far from where BK and Jane grew up. My father had passed away a month before, I was grieving deeply, and trying to get the house cleaned out so it could be put on the market. I heard a lot of commotion from helicopters overhead and turned on the TV to see what was happening. It was the Bronco chase. The house was just a few blocks from the San Diego Freeway, so I was both watching the account on TV and living it first-hand.

This morning was completely different from last week's difficult attempt to get to the appointment.

This morning I left the apartment around 8:25, got to the bus stop just before the bus arrived, got off the bus at 72nd Street and literally boarded the Fifth Avenue bus.  I got off that bus at the 42nd Street stop and transferred to the next bus immediately.  I got to my appointment 30 minutes early, was seen immediately and was out by 9:45, the time of my original appointment.  I had the same easy transfers getting home, so I stopped at the corner bodega and purchased lottery tickets.

Glad it went so well today.

I hope Annabelle's trip to the vet this afternoon goes as smoothly.

I hope the lottery winnings go just as smoothly, too!

Yes, that would be marvelous!

I've been watching the new TALES OF THE CITY. Anna Madrigal has some great lines. Maupin is one of the writers--it's a team--and I suspect he's writing her lines. Olympia Dukakis, at 88, is as wonderful as ever.

No, Annabelle is not contagious.  If she were, Dr Mohr would have said something.  She's on her usual prescription for these respiratory issues: azithromycin.

TCB, why was there such a delay in receiving the second part of your sectional?

I've been pondering for several months the huge number of complimentary rejections I got from literary agents.  I decided to wait for six months to a year before I began submitting the Annabelle and Thatch stories again while I decided what I wanted the book to be.  I think I've solved the problem with a new opening chapter.  It needs some developing, but I think I'm on the right track.

Important envelope arrived via Fed Ex, which was a surprise.  Also the logistics package arrived, too, and one other.  Not a bad day at ALL.

Double the "excitement" and a distraction for you.  Was this the same house you grew up?

I thought not but you might not have mentioned it.  I am glad she isn't having had 3 cats at once with a severe respiratory illness.

I found a lyric I wrote sometime in the 80s - really good, I think - have no idea what the tune is so I wrote a new one - I'll get used to it and if I end up really liking the tune I may just introduce it in one of the next two Kritzerland shows.
