We drove over to Safeway and found almost everything we wanted.  Usually we prefer Fred Meyer though Safeway does have items we can't get elsewhere.  They didn't have the macadamia nuts I like or coffee ice cream.  They had plenty of chocolate chips.  I was able to get the eggs I like.  We didn't need milk, bread or paper goods.  I only know the paper isle was empty as was the hand soap.

You know, my biggest fear about tomorrow morning was that I wouldn't find a taxi at 5:30AM, and the worst part of today was that I had already been through one round of the Surprep and was just about to begin the second.

I was about to wish you finding a taxi vibes when I saw it was cancelled.  I was very concerned about that.

I'm honestly glad your surgery was postponed, Elmore. I was worried about you being in a hospital.

Other than being in my car (taking my daughter to work), I have not been off my property for a week. I have been in the yard, but that's it.

Just placed another Gelson's Instacart but to deliver here directly - will come Friday - not a big order, just a new jar of Noxema (not something folks are hoarding) and hopefully some tuna (which people ARE hoarding), a couple of other minor items that should be in stock.

We just had a nice video chat, via Facebook Messenger, with Rob and Mary Linda.  We even had a tour of their new house.

Doctor Oz was recommending on Tv last light, if you're living with someone so you're both always touching the same stuff anyway, that sex is a very good thing to do

I wondered if  he was going to add "since you're doomed anyway," but I think he meant it.

Larry, it's likely great for your health overall that it was postponed.

Is there any reason when you have early surgery you can't (maybe because of age or whatnot) have support  that you need to be there from the night before, rather than being out looking for a cab at 5 am?

I completely forgot that a person from church asked me yesterday to make a cake for their gathering (?!) tonight. Luckily, I have a bunch of cake mixes in the cupboard.

This is a professional person, who, apparently, can't make a cake from a mix.

It is in the oven, and the powered sugar and cocoa powder are all sifted in a bowl, ready to make a glaze.

So, since I've been home all day, here is the exciting news from my street:

1. Passersby on their bikes like my wildflower yard.
2. One neighbor was arguing on the phone with his father that this whole virus is a hoax.
3. A neighbor was trying to dig a tree stump out of his yard and hit the water line.
4. A couple of kids were apparently fishing in the canal. I don't know if they caught anything.

Exciting, this quarantine thing.

Finished the Chinatown book - at the end he thanks his editor twice, but apparently the editor's job was not correcting numerous name misspellings, numerous incomprehensible sentences that I'm sure happened when the author revised but no one caught, and just a lot of sloppy writing.  I can't remember much about the Fosse book - is it, too, like this one?

I finished the Fosse book so long ago I have next to no memory of it now.

;D

A couple quarantined on the Princess Diamond were separated off the ship.  He went to a hospital with the virus & pneumonia, she flew home to a government quarantine facility and never got sick.  Neither had pre-existing medical issues.  He did recover. from the virus but still had pneumonia though he was better.
