Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a blur, and now it is time for you to post until the blurry cows come home.

Well, today I actually have (get?) to go to work!  I need to pay some invoices, then prepare the monthly report for the finance department so that the checks can be printed and mailed to the vendors.  That'll happen on Thursday, so I have plenty of time to get it all done.  I started on it a bit last Friday, but now I really have to finish it all.

I know of at least a couple of "Essential Employees" who worked last week and will continue working this week, as well.  Because there are invoices that need to be paid, I'm an "Essential Employee."  Tomorrow, the Admin and the union will have their Skype meeting to talk about if we all can actually come back to work next week, or when it will happen.  Hopefully, it'll be sooner rather than later.

So now, I'm off to bed so that I can wake up early enough to get to work at my regular time.  It's been a whole week since I've done that.

Have a good day, all!

Well, already I changed my mind about tomorrow's food - was on Door Dash again and decided to give 'em a try to see if I'd have the success I did not have with Cheesecake Factory - there's a Mexican jernt not too far from here that I ate at once with Grant - really like it - a favorite of Muse Margaret, too, so I just ordered tacos and enchiladas from there for delivery today between two and two -thirty.  We'll see how that goes but I'm looking forward to it and it's not too bad, calorie-wise.  Better than a frozen dinner, and better than pasta, which I've been eating too much of.  Those can wait.

I slept rather well.  I can go back to Advil now, and that helps the pain a good deal, much better than Tylenol.

I gather, DR JohnG, that you are watching the Criterion set of Pasolini.  I've got a German or French DVD of Canterbury Tales that's longer than the English-dubbed version, and I would swear that at one time I read the original print that showed at festivals was nearly twice as long as thje final print.

My plans to watch Sanditon yesterday fell apart once the surgery was canceled.  I was so tired that all I wanted to do was lie aropund with the cats.

TOD 1:

Ingmar Bergman in the 1970s had an incredible run of movies with:
Cries and Whispers
Scenes from a Marriage
The Magic Flute
Face to Face

Of course, he also made The Serpent’s Egg, one of the worst movies ever.

It is the Criterion set, but I didn’t watch the English dubbed version. That drives me even crazier that the Italian dubbed version. Somewhere in the brief amount of extras, it said he filmed much more footage than he used. Sometimes longer is better. What was there was almost too short and choppy.

I saw so many movies in the 1970s, but these are the films I remember:
Nashville, which may still be my favorite film of all time
Young Frankenstein, still brilliant
Jaws
Halloween

A Star Is Born, awful remake
Lost Horizon, one of the worst things I've ever seen

I dragged out the cat tunnel, and the cats are playing hide'n'seek.  That Lysine has certainly perked up Annabelle.  Why didn't I think of this two years ago?

I can usually tell how Annabelle's feeling by how she reacts to my preparing breakfast for them.  If she hangs around impatiently for her bowl, she's doing okay.

I have two small tables overloaded with 4 or 5 piles of books.  Today's project is to organize them.

Monday morning greetings!  There is actually something on my calendar for this evening.  It’s an AAUW board meeting that we’re doing via something called UberConference.  Film at 11.

It is snowing.

Fortunately, it's once again sticking to the grass and trees and NOT to the roads and driveways -- although, if the sumbitch goes on through the day, there might indeed be some accumulation later.

BK, we saw the 4k CHINATOWN last summer at the Bedford Playhouse where the presentation and projection are as good as it gets. It was a revelation, and like all such events there, a supreme moviegoing night.

Mr. RAH was in attendance, and he said beforehand that the color of this one was "everything" -- "if they got that right, it'll be a win". Afterward, he was delighted with it. His one caveat was that he didn't think it was from the original camera negative. I asked later what he sees to make that determination. His response:  "I’m seeing it in very slight movement of the image, perceptible at edges of screen in lock-down shots. Also grain structure."

TOD

Way too many for me to be able to formulate a reasonable list.
A few as they pop into my head:

Chinatown
The French Connection
Wait Until Dark
All the President's Men
The Exorcist
The Devils
The Wicker Man
Dog Day Afternoon
The Conversation
Jaws
Duel
Klute
Godfather II
Cries and Whispers
Straw Dogs
All That Jazz
The Long Goodbye
The Marathon Man
The Day of the Jackal
The Last Picture Show
What's Up, Doc?
Annie Hall
Love and Death
Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
And following a certain train of thought:  The First Nudie Musical
