So glad you think this is just “fear mongering” and “only” 60,000 people will die
Look, I know nerves are raw here, but there is really no need to misinterpret like this. This is the post that caused you to just accuse me of something that I in no way said or implied or inferred.
"Funny, Dr. Fauci is now saying the death toll total will be more likely around 60,000. So all those idiots saying thirty million could die (just do the math, they said) and the dire 100 to 200,000 was, as I have been saying all along, just fear mongering and based on nothing. I pray he's right."
I don't think my point is hard to understand, so let me spell it out. Saying 30 million people could die is fear mongering, period. Saying 100,000 to 200,000 could die when that is truly unknown, is fear mongering. I understand people are dying and that many have tested positive and of those many that have tested positive most will recover.
My point, my POINT was and is that there has been nothing but fear mongering since this began - from the media, from Facebook, which is why there has been all the panic and hysteria, which is what I'm talking about. I didn't say "ONLY 60,000 would die" - do you see those words in my post? No, you don't. I clearly said the dire predictions of thirty million to 100 to 200, 000 were exactly that - unknown dire predictions with no basis in reality, so why make such predictions? What good does it do? Any death, ONE death, is too many, but it's a virus and people have died, tragically, just as they do from other awful things. I know people who've been affected by this just like you do. I'm not making light of anything and I should think you would know that. Dr. Fauci has revised what he thinks the death toll will be DOWNward - that's not a good thing? Which is why the final four words in my post are: I PRAY HE'S RIGHT.
Let's not do this here, seriously. We all know what's what here, we all have opinions on how things are handled, but there's no need to misinterpret the point of a three sentence post. We're all caring people, and yes, that includes li'l ol' me. Thank you.
