Thursday morning greetings!  Believe it or not, I have a busy day today.  At noon, Richard and I are "attending" a Miami University lecture about student unrest in the 1970s.  Later this afternoon I have another Zoom practice session for Saturday's state-wide meeting and this evening a DAR webinar about researching women in your lineage.  Maybe I'll do those things in 3 different rooms, just to pretend I've actually gone someplace.

DR Elmore -- I'm guessing you probably know Emily Grishman?

On a pure whim yesterday evening I signed up for a two-hour "webinar" (I'm not actually sure what the format is to be) with her this Saturday afternoon, about the proper formatting of Broadway scores. On the one hand, this makes no sense, because do I really dream of being a music copyist when I grow up? On the other hand:  I have seen her in conversation on the web and wished it had gone on for hours; I have a passion for beautiful scores and would actually like to know more about what goes into them; and it will surely inspire me to dig into Finale better than I have. It's just a treat for myself that I sorely needed.

I know Emily Grishman.  I have worked with her and for her.  Call me when she's dead.

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates that your knowledge of Mr S. Sondheim is encyclopedic and that someone will soon tap into it - perhaps paying you for a collaboration of some kind.

You may even be the first person to hear about a new song or project and be involved in some way.....or perhaps it is a revival...

You also need to teach your brother something so don't hesitate to express yourself about what is going on.  You have thought of something that never entered his mind.

Also make sure you ALWAYS check your phone messages, something interesting is in the works.

Thank you, DR JRand69!

Yesterday my daughter and I got takeout from our favorite local Mexican food joint. Then we went for a drive. That's about all we could do under the circumstances.

She had the day off from work and two cuddly kitties, so she spent the day the way she wanted to.

From DR Cilla:

I said for a long time that I thought our governor was stupid for not giving us a shelter in place order, but now I'm glad she didn't.  The biggest pass time here seems to be going for a drive.  People are staying in their cars or just standing outside with the people they arrived with, but most just drive through the parks, drive through the country etc.  It's a welcome break from being inside

That is great people are being smart and not crowding the trails.

I hadn't either.  I think Stamps.com costs something like 17.00 per month, I can't remember exactly.  All I know is that with the discount and not having to go to the post office it's worth it.  It even comes with a free digital scale that goes into your computer so you just weigh the envelope and print it out on your printer and mail it.

If only I did enough mailings to make it worth this.

Normally I like going to the post office on a nice weather day.  I have Keith drop me off on his way to the gym and they I have a lovely walk home.

I need a DEXA to test my bone density to determine if I need to treat my osteoporosis.  I consider a test to determine if I need medication to prevent breaking bones is essential.  Apparently is isn't.

DR George, there are a lot of cool you tube videos with this camera.  I can't wait to explore all the things it can do.  I need to buy a good tripod before I try to shoot the moon

My nephew leaves New York today or tomorrow  he said things with the funeral home he was helping out at are much more under control. They even had a sort of slow day yesterday.  He's got to do quarantine so he's going to my mom's place at the lake.  We plan to rent it out for the season, but the people who had it last year want a new dock first. That will take longer than 2 weeks, so it's cool.  Adam doesn't think he has Covid but who knows, in any event it will be a good place for him to decompress.  As a funeral director he said he's seen a lot worse in terms of condition of those who passed but the sheer numbers have really had an impact on him.

I'm slowly feeling better. That 12 + hour writing stint I did last week really wiped me out.  Unfortunately, if I don't get going with the next project I'll have to do it again.

Like BK I'm finding I don't really know what day it is until I stop and think about it.  I've also gotten into the habit of sitting down to work about 10:00 pm and working until 1:am or so and then not getting to sleep until 2 or 3.  I hope I can get back to a normal routine at some point, although I kind of like this one
