I'm trying to watch Two Gentlemen of Verona, a play I haven't read. I tried to watch this DVD before, but I haven't been able to get into it.

DR JohnG, I spent some time today looking up Brecht-Weill on youtube. There are a couple of complete performances of Mahagonny and Dreigroschenoper you might enjoy. I also found a complete performance of the BBC broadcast of Jonathan Miller's production of Candide for the Scottish Opera.

Back from the mail place. It's almost ninety-five degrees out - lots of cars and the UPS Store with a line thank to every single person doing Amazon returns. Can someone here please explain to me this phenomenon where people are staying home, buying shit from Amazon they clearly don't need, then returning it. I do not get it. Happily, someone came and got my package slip right away because they're trying to be good about taking care of the folks who actually pay to have a box there, rather than these Amazon creeps, who are, by the way, ALWAYS the same people, from whom the UPS Store makes not a single penny. If the store began charging one dollar per package my guess is that this nonsense would stop instantly.

My Instacart shopper at Ralph's has been texting me - having to make replacements for certain items - he said the frozen food bins are picked dry. The usual hoarders who keep hoarding daily no matter what. These bins are restocked three times a day. People are NUTS.

Shopper has had to replace Arrowhead water (I'm sure with Kroger's own), and the pasta brands I prefer with others. I would love to have photographs of the people who go there every single day and buy up everything. Gelson's does NOT have this problem, but Gelson's costs more. But I think after this I'm done with Ralph's forever.

I'm enjoying Two Gentlemen this time. I am able to pay it more attention. It's got parts that he did better in other plays. But this is amusing.

I came home to find a calico cat in the backyard. I had seen her before, but she hasn't let me come near. Today, she was back at the rusty old shed I have. She had a litter of kitties running in and out of the shed. Oy.
