In today's exciting news, I just submitted my request for an Amazon return! -- for which the site told me I don't even have to return the item, the refund is on its way back to my card. Mind you, that was nearly ten minutes ago and I haven't received the confirming email. So, we'll see.

Oh. I didn't tell you dear readers what this exciting item is.

Vacuum cleaner bags.

Yes, you read that right. Vacuum cleaner bags. A generic replacement for Sears bags that, in spite of the product number for both the bags and the machine matching up, along with every other element of the description, these are actually about twice the width of the originals. So forget it. I'll pay the damned money for the right product.

In all the years I've been buying from Amazon, I believe this is only the second or third time I've had to request a return or a refund for something.

The little devil sitting on my shoulder holding his little pitchfork just whispered a suggestion in my ear:

When I see the credit and get the confirmation that I'm definitely not returning the bags, I should at least try one. Because who knows, maybe it'll cram in there and work just fine. I actually think it probably won't. But we'll see.

Dr Glickman, the urologist, just called me.  The hospital is opening up next week for surgeries and my two surgeons wanted to know if I was ready to go back to two days in hospital.  I suggested the week of May 25.  I want to know things are settling down/

This is very encouraging that they are ready to do the surgery.

Friends who have been ready to ignore the virus invited me out to dinner Friday. I said I wasn’t open yet.

Wise decision.

If they don't fit properly it could mess up your vacuum cleaner so be careful before using it.

I have been told to keep a couple of items that weren't worth the expense of returning.

Our weekly trip to Safeway is over.  For the 3rd time Keith, who gets the vegetables, forgot celery.  I fortunately noticed the produce guy putting out celery and picked some up.

Definitely. I imagine the bag itself taking up so much space that it won't allow for proper filling.

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  I've just come from a fun book discussion on Google Hangouts with some of my friends from Miami University.  We did a "what we've been reading" round table.  The organizer asked us to email him our lists and he will send us a compilation.

I also did my weekly shopping today.   The store has one-way aisles but I noticed several people not paying attention.  I have to admit that I walked partially down the wrong way (without my cart) in one of the aisles since no on else was in that particular one.

Still can't find soft soap or anything like it.  I do have bar soap so that will do for now.

I'm so glad to have Facetime, Messenger Video, etc during this time.  I've spoken to my friends in Scotland, Greece, and California in the last few days.

I did the same at Safeway.  Since the isle was empty I figured it was ok.

None at all. wow.  I saw less today at the market than I have been seeing and nothing I wanted.  I just remembered, there were large sizes of Soft Soap on a side isle.  I suggest asking next time.  Sometimes they will even go in the back and get you one.

I saw something on shaving bar soap and mixing it with water to make liquid soap.  I would think using a bar is just fine, especially if you are the only one using it.

The kitties are learning how to climb the fence. They get about halfway up and sort of run/fall/scramble down.

DR George, congratulations on your new lights.  I wouldn't know where to begin.

Thanks, Larry!  I'm glad I got them...for the most part. ;)
