Vixmom I hope your phone service is returned today now the weekend is over.  Might the 18 year old be put to work helping you clean up the yard?  Is it an inconvenience to have a broken fence?

I started a post about an hour ago, but got sidetracked and lost it.

DR/Dear Brother Jay has gotten a job!  It is, I believe, a newly created position with the Jewish Volunteer Services of LA.  They are starting a Career Placement division, and Jay will be heading it.

Unfortunately, I am sketchy on the details, as he left me a message before heading off on his "last hurrah" this past week, and our parents weren't terribly well-versed in the details either.

Happy news indeed!  (A DR George/SWEENEY TODD reference)

IN the meanwhile, we saw our final Stars of Tomorrrow shows of the year (a BIRDIE and a MAME) over the weekend.  Now I just have to finish writing some of my adjudications.  We also got to see the tour of CHICAGO, featuring -- ready for this, DR Jennifer? -- Paige Davis.  She acquitted herself well, though she did not leap into the pantheon of  favorite Roxies. (I have seen this production, in NY and on tour, far more than I care to admit!)  The Velma, however, was a Canadienne named Terra MacLeod, and she was sensational!  Carol Woods blew the roof off the house as Mama Morton.  The Billy was only so-so.

That's what's going on.

This kid was driving a car that probably cost more than my house! I suspect manual labor is not in his repitore  :DI have already received  phone call from his  dad's insurance company promising to get an adjuster out right away to acess the damage and they said they woud have him call me to arranege an appointment do I could be there to point out anything he might miss!  :D

We like having the fence there to keep the pooping doggies out of the yard as well the odd SUV  that might leap the curb   :D

This is actually the 2nd time this has happened to this stretch of fence in the past ten years, and the neighbor directly across the street had the same problem twice in the past  five years!!

Its a 30 MPH stretch of road, but the long st4ecth with no stop signs seems to motivate SUV drivers to go 300 MPH instead!! (all four incidents have been SUV drivers, so I am NOT picking on all SUV drivers in general dear dear Danise!!)

Here is Mark and James at the Timberline bar down the street from James' apartment.

Mark is the conservative from Wyoming, James claims to be Republican...but he is more liberal than I am!

And here are Mark and James again...I told them to look at each other with love in their eyes!

They actually will be moving in together before too long. I think they make a nice couple and I am very happy for them!!

LOL! That was pretty much about it for pictures! I kept forgetting to snap any other photos during the weekend! Oh, well.

Now I must relax and catch up on last nights DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and my (late) Bollywood movie for the weekend....ARZOO (1965).

I won the Rocky Mountain regional best actor award back in my youth for playing Jerry in Albee's Arzoo Story.

The hilarious thing about it was the regionals were held at Brigham Young University, which had strict content guidelines for the plays presented on campus.  Jerry's 20 page monologue was about 2 paragraphs by the time we were through.  :)
