This is reminding me of several outrageous "church ladies" cookbooks I collected from yard sales and flea markets a while back. I finally gave them to someone who had the same morbid fascination. This was years before I knew you, DR John G., or you could have added them to your own collection. But you've probably seen 'em all anyway.

Thank you all for the heads up regarding Miracle Whip. I shall not soil my several decades of purity by going near it, even experimentally.

It's only around 80 degrees, and overcast, but I just mowed the fairly small "lawn" area around my house and I'm sweating like a pig.

You all needed to know that, so there it is.

Two hours to dinner and I am under attack from the Three Hungry Kittens, who have all risen from their torpor to wreak havoc on a reluctant Daddy.

I got a lovely email from my British conductor friend about the orchestration I sent him.  It may end up on a recording next year.

Our contingent is served three meals - at approximately 8 am, 3 pm, 10 pm. The official feline assembly and human torture period commences at least one hour prior to those times. I'm amazed that DR Elmore's cats tolerate all those hours between their dinner hour and the early morning meal. It's all in what they're used to, of course. But that sure sounds nice to me. Well, except for those early morning hours. I guess I wouldn't trade for that!  :)

That would be so great. And again, what a wonderful gift.

Did you ever see Florence Pugh in Lady Macbeth? It was this story. Excellent.

An answered prayer. I can start practicing to be a genuine 60s go-go dancer.

I may broil some Spam.

It's the champagne of canned meats.

Why not float it in some lime gelatin. Maybe add some pimento-stuffed olive and lima beans. Then top with a soupcon of Miracle Whip.

I'm an hour into Once Upon a Time in the West. Forgot just how good this movie is.

I completely forgot about the movie.

I find it shocking you have never had Miracle Whip.  You might have without knowing it and didn't know it was the reason what you were eating tasted bad.

We went to Safeway for a few things and they had restocked the mayo section.  I was able to get the right size of Keith's disgusting light Best Foods mayonnaise, however, they only had large or super small regular mayo.  I am not ready to buy either and will continue wait.

After Safeway we went to a large cemetery to walk.  It was interesting and was someplace new to explore.

I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep - I didn't fall asleep until six - even though I was in bed by three.

I am blocking people on Facebook to the tune of ten or more a day.  I am so tired of seeing bullshit, for being derided for having an opinion (gee, it's Facebook), and my latest when things get contentious is simple - I remove my post and the entire dialogue goes away.

Did you block the person or simply remove the conversation on a mutual friend's post that tagged you with a news story?
