In honour of JMK's knowledge of Esperanto I shall play Three Dog Night's greatest hits this morning.

I think you mean JMK's knowledge of Google.   ;D  In which case, I guess you'd have to play Barney Google.   ;)

Cellphonies is a very sad concept.

Also, "Mister Cell-o-phone" would be a bad idea for a song.

JMK - yes, the envelope arrived yesterday, although I didn't get it until today.  Thanks much.  And, if you can't arrange a store, let's proceed with your other plan.

Woohoo! My All region code JVC DVD player arrived! But ugh, now I have to hook it up. Do any other DRs find the massive amounts of cords behind their TVs/VCRs/DVD players to be most unseemly?

Happily, it's quite easy to hook up.  I think you will be most happy with your JVC player from hkflix.  I have two, and they've never caused me a moment's grief.

Soon I will be on my way to Mr. Grant Geissman's house to do piano tracks for four songs.

And now, MBarnum, there is a whole world that could never be yours that can now be yours.  I have over two hundred region 2 discs, and they're amongst my favorites.  You can get all your Hong Kong musicals now.  You can get the new SEs of Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More months before they're available here (mine should be here Monday or Tuesday).

I wonder where I'll be supping tonight?  Must give it some thought.

Oh, and do you want to hear something funny?  I did not gain any weight from last night's humungous meat fest.  I think it's because a) I hadn't eaten all day, and b) the steak was probably only four ounces, the one sausage wasn't too bad, the four pieces of bacon isn't that much and the mushrooms and sauteed onions were nothing.  In fact, the only REALLY bad thing I ate were the french fries, but there weren't many of those.

Hi folks.  It has been a very long week.   Work is still a bear and Mom pulled her back out again.

Let's just say it's not been a fun one.  I'm very tired as I sit here and plan on going to bed shortly.  Thank goodness I can sleep in tomorrow.

I haven't had time or energy to do much of anything.

I hope all are doing well.

Good vibes to DR Elmores DSIL Donna!  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Michael Shayne the Paris Opera-Hotel is not the one François works at.

Thank you I was getting worried as I started catching up I saw no Francois posts or anyone knowing which hotel he worked at.

Why isn't the quorum on the forum posting?  The quorum on the forum has potential to be posting, but the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true.

I heard about the fire in Paris.  Horrible.  I thought that  Francois worked at Disney so I didn't think about his maybe being in danger.  I am very glad that he was not.

La Plej Grandaj Shlagroj de Trihunda Nokto.
And Jeremiah was Bull Frog I believe.

Trihunda Nokta is supposed to be an Australian saying. Sounds more like a Delaware reality on a quiet night.
We only get to two dog nights here. (When there is a thunderstorm!)

BK, do you have any places to recommend for buying Region 2 movies? I would love to find some Italian movies...I have looked at Amazon France and Great Britain but have not found anything that I must have...Amazon Germany has some sword and sandal films but they don't have subtitles, Amazon Japan probably has many films I would like to get but, LOL, I can't read the Japanese writing very well!

For Japanese DVDs I use cdjapan.co.jp  Excellent service and selection.  How can you not have found anything from amazon uk or france?  Most of my stuff is from those two places.  I also got all my Edgar Wallace sets from amazon germany.

For cult items, I like xploitedcinema.com.  hkflix.com also has some great genre stuff.

Does this mean you'll enter your chamber and never be seen again?  That would be most unseemly.

I checked out xploitedcinema.com, they do have some interesting titles available.

What I am mostly looking for are titles that will likely never be released in the U.S. ...like the Italian spy films from the 60s, Japanese comedies from the 50s and 60s, some of the more obscue sword and sandal films, things like that.

Somewhere, but I don't know where, you can get DVDs of vintage Malaysian horror and sci-fi films from the 50s and 60s...haven't found that website yet.

DRGiny, was it Andrea?

Yes, DR elmore, I'm pretty sure it was Andrea who brought the Dorito's.

Friday media:  CD (car) - I still can't stop listening to Mamma Mia.  My very favorite sequence is "Take a Chance on Me," the wedding bridge, and "I Do, I Do, I Do..."

DVD - DH Richard had a Midsomer Mystery all cued up when I got home from work:  "Death of a Hollow Man," which takes place in the community theatre during their production of Amadeus.  DH was quite interested in the news I shared from DR's MattH and JMK about the new Miss Marple series.  We'll definitely be watching that.

Congrats on the player, MBarnum!!  As for the wires, I have my TV, 2 VCRs, DVD player and laserdisc player all on a TV stand that is just a bunch of shelves on poles which are on wheels.  There are no sides and everything is open so that the wires and the backs of the machines are easily accessible.  My sister insists on having some kind of an armoire where she can close it and hide the components.  Any time that she has to make some changes (actually, I'M the one who does it), it's a huge pain in the butt.  Just getting to the backs of the machines is a chore because the cabinet is enclosed and impossible to move...and the wires are never long enough. :P

I hope all the Marple fans can go there with an open mind. We had the same London crits quoted here - mostly hype to promote the show. I thought the "tweaking" was fine and the interpretation of Marple as being a thinking, "aware" woman - not just a busybody - was fine by me. Of course, I do like Geraldine McEwan so there is some bias on my part.

Useless trivia. Tony Hatch and Jackie Tent adapted "England Swings" and released "Australia Swings". It made not a ripple.
