That's what I got for the pie that I made on Thursday for my dad. I found out almost too late that after you defrost it in the fridge overnight, you still have to let it set on the counter and warm up to room temperature for about 45 minutes or so. Then it'll be really ready to unroll and use.

So today, my mom and dad and I went to the Red Wind casino so that my dad could have some fun. I think he ended up on the positive, but my mom most assuredly did not.

I had $10 in cash, and then my mom paid me back for a door knob, so I had $60 total. I lost the first $10, then lost some more, then kept playing and started winning...and finally ended up $15 richer! I went home with $75! I don't think that I've ever won that much!

That is the day they test all of the fire alarms in all the buildings. It is deafening. It really freaked Nicky out.

Knowing what it sounds like here I have no problem imagining his reaction. It makes excellent sense to wait until after the alarms are tested.
