RE:
Three Guys Naked from the Waist DownI did this show at my alma mater the year after I graduated. I came back to work on it. It was a true labor of love from day one. It was an all-guy crew - myself, the director, and the three guys. And my three guys were amazing performers and wonderful people - and still are.
At the time we had tried to contact Michael Rupert to see if he would be interested in writing an additional musical sequence to "update" the show, but we had no luck at the time. However, the only real edit we had to do was one verse of "Heroes" - the references to Che Guevara, among others, just weren't ringing true for our guy.

One of my favorite memories of that whole experience was when we arranged to take pics on the roller coasters at King's Dominion (now Paramount's King's Dominion). We needed the slides for some of the transition sequences. I got to come along for the ride - literally. It was a blast being escorted to the front of the line time and again. And each night during the show, I ended up making a sort of secret cameo appearance during the projections.
OH! And the first night that the guys tried on their drag outfits.... WOW!!!! -And then the subsequent fittings! *And, "strangely" enough, due to the number of drag queens in Richmond at the time, it was actually sort of easy for the costumer to buy large-sized pumps and high heels at the local department stores.

Postscript: When I worked on Michael Rupert's new show - we did a workshop at the American University and the Kennedy Center - I asked him about updating
Three Guys, and he said he still gets inquiries about doing that, and that people are still interested in producing the show. So...
Oh, and he, too, has no idea what happened to Jerry Colker.

Postscript 2: Hearing Michael Rupert sing a verse of "Heroes" in a rehearsal room accompanying himself at the piano...
