On the performance front - I have just been offered the part of Mr. Fezziwig in the DePauw ZOOM production of A Christmas Carol....and also the part of one of the solicitors who come in at the beginning to request that Mr Scrooge donate some money.....

That will be fun.....I am sure.

Congrats.

Today I again heard someone, this time young and healthy, saying how tired he felt. I rarely hear it from so many people.

Sat on my couch like so much fish but didn't really watch anything.  Did a Streamyard test for the Partridge Family thing next week - sound is better and all seemed well but then the other two on with me started freezing and it was the same old, same old.  My Internet here is pretty strong and I'm not that far from the router.  The phone camera and mic worked fine so I can do that without issue.

Yes DR JEANNE one of the prices of being a sort of survivor.

What has been really difficult for me today is that folks are posting stories and memories that are just wrong....they never happened....but it's not place to go in and correct anything.  Maybe that's the way they remember it.....and maybe it's just the way I remember it.....but I know who directed which show.....

So, I did a 1.5 mile brisk walk, stopped at local bank branch's ATM and tried to deposit a little five buck residual check.  I have no idea what happened, but it didn't process the check and didn't return the check - instead of that I got a little print out apologizing and saying to call the Electronic Claims, which of course I can't do until morning.  I think they intend to have me file a claim but I will not be getting off the phone until that money is in my account - not my fault, their fault and because something screwy is with their machine I'm not going to be punished or penalized for it, it's that simple.  Can you imagine if it had been a check of substance?  It's made me very nervous about using their ATM anymore - I used one at my branch earlier and that was fine, but had there been an issue I could have just walked in the bank and they could have dealt with it right then and there.  This claims thing reeks, but we'll see what that's actually about in the morning.

It's been in the 90s all week - most annoying.  Evening's however are nice and cool - right now on the walk it was 75, although it sure felt cooler than that, more like high 60s.  In the house?  78.  So, air is on and cooling down.

Finished the Dvorak Requiem - very enjoyable and beautiful.  The second CD also has some stuff by Kodaly, who I like.  And the second disc also has Dvorak's Symphonic Variations - so a lot of stuff for a very inexpensive price.

BK - they have to balance the machine, so if the check is in there, they'll have to post it to your account. Eventually.

I should give "Bluebeard's Castle" another try. Saw a live.performance of it some years back and had a hard time with it.

How many days will you be in hospital?

Thanks, DR elmore3003. Their initial estimation is that I will be released on the 3rd day,  as you were.

Thanks so very much to all of you for the vibes and good wishes.

Now playing: the Mozart Requiem.  Considering how much I don't really care for Mozart, I kind of am really enjoying this.  Giulini conducting.

It's only 4.95 but I will brook no backtalk from them - they will have to credit me while I'm on the phone.

Jrand, my condolences on the loss of your friend, but congratulations on your casting.  Apparently DR elmore doesn’t realize how much weight you have lost or would never have assumed you were playing both Fezziwigs.

Well, I'm going to go to bed now.  Today, we're all going to visit with my mom and probably eat something.

Good night, Jane, and have a good day, all.

Today was a good day. :)

DR George, yesterday when you posted about your father's situation, I wanted to post that I hoped his passing would be swift and painless as possible, but I felt I was the gun.  I was saddened to read this morning that he has passed, but I'm so happ[y for all of you that it was so quick.  Watching my mother linger for days was hell.

So . . . I send my sympathy and condolences to you and all your family.  Keep us posted opn how you are.

Thanks, Larry.  It was quick.  My friend Margo's mother had alcohol-related dementia and it took her 15 years to die...15 very long and painful (for Margo and her siblings) years. :-\

We all went to my parents' mom's house and ate and talked.  We had bagels and cream cheese and lox and brie and rice crackers and diet Pepsi.

My mom talked about how glad she was that my dad died quickly...he didn't linger (like Margo's mom), and he was not in pain.  She's still sad, but said that it was a good death.  It was quick and the doctors were able to keep him pain free until the end.

My mom's friends Mona, Sonia and Catherine came over and ate and chatted, as well.  It was good to ketchup with them.  I hadn't seen Catherine since last year, and Sonia in a couple of years.  Mona is a regular Phase 10 player.
