Boy, is this a hellishly rainy day to stay in from. Sadly (very sadly), at some point I have to take the trash cans down to the road. I don't even know what I'll put on to do that. I haven't owned an actual raincoat in decades. I guess my trench coat is the closest thing to a real raincoat, and it will have to do. Now, as to my feet... who knows.

It's been absolutely bright and shiny today, but it's getting down into the 20s tonight, and I have a few plants I need to save from that.

$3900......in my mouth.

I shall have to wait until the dividend comes in.....and then probably do half in the next couple of months.....and the other half with the next dividend IF ANY.

Yikes! :o

Hey everyone....there's a new Broadway Radio Show up.  It's the first of several Holiday Gift Guide for 2020 episodes. This time I am chatting with Barry Anderson of the songwriting team Anderson & Petty about their holiday album WISH as well as their upcoming virtual concert benefiting Acting For Others.  Check it out on the radio show page....and don't forget to explore the archive section for more fun and entertaining shows!  Happy Holidays!!!  Donald

Thank you for the reminder!

Just watched a silent version of A Christmas Carol from 1910. Scrooge shows up at the Cratchits' place with a goose that's huge, head still on and it hasn't been plucked. They won't be eating that bird for many, many hours to come. And Scrooge is slapping his knee it's so funny. It's like the unrepentant Scrooge had shown up and was playing a practical joke on the family. Tiny Tim should have hit him with his crutch.

It's part of a disc of silent Christmas films that date back to 1901. And they have great titles like "Santa Claus vs. Cupid," "A Trap for Santa" and "The Adventure of the Wrong Santa Claus."

Thanks, everyone.  Not unexpected.  I haven't spent any money in my mouth for a couple of decades so it wasn't going to be an easy fix.

DR singdaw I don't think it's the same chopper - but it could be it had to go out on tour......

I am back from my book discussion, not that I had far to go.  Since there were only four of us, and one of the other three lives in my building, we had the meeting in the breezeway in front of my unit.  It was comfortable outside at the beginning of the meeting.  By the end we decided the next meeting will be via Zoom.

Hey all.  It was back to work.  As much as its "All Hands on Deck", there are still faculty/staff who haven't really got the message.  Kind of frustrating.  Other than that, it's been a lovely day and I'm finally happy to be home with the boys for the evening (and more work to be done!)

We stopped watching The Crown this season.  From the reviews & complaints I have been reading I am glad we stopped.

We enjoyed The Queen's Gambit very much.

Bruce I am curious what shows you think look alike?

Never mind.  I probably wouldn't know them anyway.

Hauled out my Johnny Cash Christmas specials, which I haven't watched in a couple of years. The first features Roy Clark and Tony Orlando as guest stars.
