Back from Marshall Harvey's.  He did a great job and I actually don't think I changed a single edit, save for one scene, where we used a couple of different shots.  We spent two hours finessing the music and sound, and we were able to adjust the framing of a few shots to make them look a bit better.  I'm happy with it all.

That's great news, BK. I think you spoil us with the high quality of your shows, especially in terms of sound. I watched Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens recently. The cast was top-notch. The monologues were given to perfect people. But the sound, especially on the some of the singing, was not what it need to be.

Last night, I watched my third Richard Strauss opera, Ariadne auf Naxos. I loved every minute of it. It was from 1988 and the cast was sheer perfection. Jessye Norman was imperious and hilarious, while Kathleen Battle was sheer perfection. Such a shame that her career derailed. She was joy unalloyed. But apparently not backstage.

Good Evening- just another ordinary Sunday.  Except one of our services is outside.  I'm really not a fan, mostly of the set up and no one really being in charge.  Whatever....

The rest of the day was kinda lazy, did some laundry, sorted some boxes, etc.  Decided not to stress about the condition of the apartment today.  Tomorrow is another day.

My two-year old Lacie external hard drive has died.  What the hell good is it now that I am unable to retrieve any files from the past two years of backups?  As Annabelle would say, this is most vexing.

Oh, no!  It's been quite a few years since I've lost a hard drive, but I've lost a couple of flash drives and it can be devastating! :(

I seem to remember reading somewhere that two-syllable names were best for pets. I'm really unclear now if I really read that, and why that would be.

You are correct.  One is ok.

Even Margo realizes that "Veronica" is too long, so it's going to be Vee (sp?), and probably several as yet undecided nicknames.

Jane, Joy tells me her husband is in stable condition.

I am glad to hear this.  My FB friend who's 91 year old mother recovered now has her mother in-law with covid.  They both are in different nursing homes in different states.  The mother in-law had gastric symptoms which she hadn't connected to covid.  Everyone was tested after a couple of employees tested positive.

In this past week, two of my friends lost their mothers to Covid-19.  They were both in their 90s and in assisted living facilities.

That's terrible. :(

A neighbor came over today to tell me that I had a water leak. I thought he was the one with the leak. So, I now have to make an appointment with a plumber to come over and see what they can do for me. Ugh. This might delay my trip to Louisville, but hopefully by no more than a day or two.

Yikes!

The owner of the dance studio also featured solos from friends and acquaintances. My favorite was the singer who sang O, Holy Night and followed it up with Creole Lady Marmelade, a song I find appropriate for a show with 5-year-olds shaking it up.

That concept is not unique.  There's a local dance studio that also (in my humble opinion) has a tendency to feature moves in appropriate for the younger dancers...but they do, anyway. ::)

Just read B.J. Chute’s story, Journey to Christmas. Heartwarming. I wonder if any of her other stuff, including Greenwillow, is still available. Guess I will check Amazon.

The show started late and ran long. The theater isn't doing intermissions now and nothing is supposed to last more than 80 minutes. This was 2.5 hours long and did have an intermission. It was private event, but they still had guidelines they were supposed to follow -- and didn't.

That's too bad.  The Washington Center has started up some events, but I haven't volunteered for any, yet.  Hopefully, they're enforcing the guidelines.
