Hmmm George. I consider honey vegetarian. I don't know if it is vegan. That might depend on how the bees are cared for.

I had read (assumed??) that honey wasn't even vegetarian. ::)

I did finish 8 1/2 last night. And man, that’s a tough one. You have to be able to follow it to get it. I mean, I “get” it, but the dialogue is fast and furious and you miss a lot when a line or three go by that you were barely able to read.

I think the answer, short of dropping everything and becoming fluent in Italian, is simply to sit closely and slog through it a couple more times, freeze framing and rewinding, until I really have the gist of each exchange. Eventually, I should be able to just watch and enjoy. But I’m going to have to earn it.

Just get out your two-disc set of the OBC of Nine. It’s all there with music.

I love that recording!

What heartening news, DR Jane.

Thank you.  He knew how anxious I was, and we were both a bit frustrated he wasn't getting any information.

TOD:

I enjoy Daniels in almost anything except Knight Rider, if that was the shows title.

St. Elsewhere
Two for the Road
1776

I would have loved to see him in A Little Night Music with Glynis Johns.

Is it that you didn't like is voice in Night Rider or you didn't like the show?

The show.

He was still good ;)

Great news!

Thank you.  He wisely scheduled it for the end of his shift and prior to several days off of work.

I suppose it is perspective.  Bees are not killed to get the honey.  Originally I did not know they could be harmed.

THE LITTLEST REVUE arrived in Indiana this morning.

I love this score, especially "The Ballad of the Shape of Things" and "Summer is A-coming In."  The first time I heard "The Shape of Things," it was sung in concert by Elly Stone at Carnegie Hall, 1972.  I loved her.

The accompaniment to "Spring Doth Let Her Colors Fly," a parody of Helen Traubel's nightclub act, is an actual song by German composer Hugo Wolf.

Picked up a couple of packages, got curbside takeout from Islands and came home and ate that - very good bacon cheeseburger and fries - and now listening to a wonderful opera in the Weill mold - Jonny spilt auf (Jonny Strikes Up) by Ernst Krenek, but a little lusher in orchestration.  Naturally part of the Entartete Musik series on Decca.

One of the big plot holes has Rudolph catching a boat into the past because, all of a sudden, he can’t fly.  What?
