This is one of those days that you feel like anything is possible. From the minute you opened your eyes, you probably felt the unique energy of this Jupiter-Aquarian transit, but there’s no need to wait for something to happen—because you are now the catalyst of your own change!

This stimulating duo opens your mind to new possibilities and encourages you to be a pioneer and an innovator. When you see something that should be done differently, don’t wait for someone else to come along and do something about it. You can make positive changes on a global level and start making the world a better place to live in under the influence of this thought-provoking transit.

Sending Group Rep another email.  It seems that you should have gotten a username and password IN the e-mail they sent - that's what I got.  Username is usually the e-mail address.

I finally got a picture of the beautiful neighborhood cat when he jumped up on the ledge to visit Birdy Barnum today.

He has a black hat and black on his haunches.....otherwise all white.

He is quite a pretty boy!

My breakfast has thus far been one (1) banana and three (3) orange frosted cinnamon rolls. Pillsbury or whatever. Yummy.

Today feels like a Sunday, for various reasons. It's a good thing it isn't, because I'm subbing at a church service tomorrow and it would be over whilst here I sit. Setting both alarms now.

I’ve never seen the postal service so overwhelmed and completely screwed up. For example, my date with Lolita came and went. I use USPS Informed Delivery, and the “arrival by 8 pm” last night never happened. But I knew it wasn’t going to when I recognized a tracking pattern I’ve seen repeatedly since the first of the month.

At 9 pm the web page dropped that ETA whereupon it joined the rest of our “delivery date unknown” items and is shown as being still in Santa Clarita, CA. I have an eBay package that was shipped from Rhode Island (two hours from here) at the end of November. That one has been in Jersey City Hell (major distribution hub) for two weeks. And so it goes.

You can thank our incompetent putz president and that idiot postmaster general he appointed on behalf of his large contribution to the Fat Orange Slug's campaign.  We really did elect the Manchurian Candidate, and I would not be surprised to learn that he and his appointees are all paid well by Russia.

Oh of course. The Republicans have been trying to kill off the USPS for years. That, plus this year's events, plus the actions you identify have created the worst possible storm for this season. But you know what? Thank Gawd we're in this mess now and not six weeks ago.

I understand bottlenecks and that kind of thing.

What I don't get is how the USPS website goes down (or gets overloaded) so often. And how the tracking software is so lacking in consistency and reliability.

One clue:  I hear from a friend who had a career with the USPS that, especially in times like this, there's always a number of employees who will feel so overloaded that they say "F--- it" and don't bother scanning half the items that come their way. Some do it because that's who they are. Others, because they're so beaten down by the load and the staffing issues that they have to just stop caring. So you have a tracking system that, theoretically, is fantastic...which in reality is only properly used half the time

Thanks, bk, for your efforts on my behalf. I don't want to drag it out here.  I did check all the things you suggested.

If their website would just allow me to re-set my password, all would be well.

And that shall be my last word on the subject!     :)

A friend of mine just posted, and I have checked this with the BBC News website, that there is a new strain of COVID in the UK which is, so far as they know now, not more deadly, but spreads much more rapidly than the usual strains. UK is going to have to go into tighter restrictions than hereforto.

DR ChasSmith mentioned the Swingle Singers earlier. I remember how bowled over I was the first time I heard their rendition of Claire De Lune.

What did you choose? I looked at that menus and decided I would need to order 4 dinners so I could  have everything on the menu

Tonight's dinner is chicken breast, courtesy of that wonderful Omaha Steaks gift, with mushrooms and mixed veggies.

I hope declaring Christmas Eve a federal holiday will not mess things up more.

It isn't just the USPS making slow deliveries.  They all are.  Amazon might be the best.

I watched DESK SET on my B I G screen last night.....and it was fun.  I like the movie a lot.  And I wish the play had more of the film's elements.....it is SO DIFFERENT.

I was disappointed when I read it as I thought it would be a terrific show for our stage.....

I would have thought so too.  What a shame.
