Well, you've read the notes, the notes played the waiting game, and now it is time for you to post until the waiting cows come home.

This will be a quiet day since I must be out and about tomorrow and Thursday. I need to vacuum, tidy up, and make trups to the basement to take down the recyclables and to the lobby to pick up yesterday's mail.

I had thought she was a one-book author! What's this one like?

Very short and very sweet. And the illustrations by Erik Blegvad are delightful.

Something by B.J. Chute was in our Literature book in the 9th grade, I think.

Back from the dermatologist, where the procedure was fast and easy peasey.

Then I picked up a few donuts on the way home, so here comes some indulgence.

TOD

There were a few years - late 80s and early 90s - when I was eating a LOT of pizza. I’d go out to restaurants that served good ones, and do a lot of takeout as well. I was in the habit of ordering at least a medium, and when really “starving”, sometimes a large, and I’d always knock back a couple of glasses of red wine with it. I know I always finished a medium, and I think I even demolished a large one once or twice.

I was living alone then, and it was all too easy to be gluttonous without feeling too guilty. To tell the truth, I could probably accomplish the same right now, but the feat has a little less appeal, and I’d also be all the more aware that I wasn’t doing my waistline or anything else any favors.

TOD:

I can usually eat three or four slices of a Papa John's pizza, which is about half.

But like DR GEORGE, in my misspent youth, I could eat an entire frozen pizza.....baked of course.

I have two canes in the apartment, and I usually know where I've left one of them.  I just finished vacuuming, and I have no idea where one of them can be.  I've looked all over the apartment . . . and I just found it hooked over a Lacie external hard drive.

I loved that. Glad you enjoying it. It’s a tough little Christmas tale.
