Has the world gone utterly mad? It's the Scopes Trial all over again in Kansas. They are actually having hearings against teaching evolution in the public schools there...I have never been to Kansas before. I now have even more reason never to go there. What a frightening place that must be!

I got the first season of Penn & Teller's "Bullsh*t" from Netflix and they had a segment on this very topic, but it wasn't in Kansas. It may have been Florida, but I don't remember. Anyway, the townsfolk voted on and approved a measure to put stickers in all science books that deal with evolution saying something to the effect that evolution has never been proved and it's only a theory. The people also talked about "intelligent design" being a "science" and that it needs to be taught as a valid science, also. Yea, right!

Der B followed in his car to where he thought the Dal had gone, I followed on foot. In the process, I spotted the Dal laying next to a truck, which was parked next to a house on our street that is being renovated. The Dal got right in the car, no fears. After driving around the neighborhood, to see if anyone was around and had "lost a Dalmatian," we decided to check with Molly, the local Dalmatian League leader. Nope, she hadn't seen this new dog, or heard of any other Dals in our neck of the woods. So, der B and I decided the best idea would be to head back home (with a side-trip to WalMart for a collar for the boy) and, if need be, keep him in the basement while posting signs.

But, driving by the house where I'd caught the Dal, we thought it might be a better idea for me to take another look, to see if there was any signs that someone had left him in the back yard. Indeed there was, two bowls and a rope, a rope that had clearly been escaped from.

At this moment, the new owner of the house drove up in his truck, very curious as to why I'd been snooping around on his property. I explained about the Dalmatian, which he recognized as belonging to one of the men working on the property. So, after a pleasant exchange of information, we agreed to take the Dal with us to our house, much safer than anywhere else. The Dal's owner should be back within an hour or so, and he has the address where we live.

End of emergency...I think.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You two are wonderful men and I'm proud to know you.

Well, it has been a fruitful day around here, job-wise. I've gotten two calls for interviews, so I'll be asking for Wednesday morning vibes...and some other to-be-determined vibes, depending on the scheduling.

In addition, Jed and I have been called back for a quick 4 day project at the test scoring site, so we have a bit more income coming our way...yippie

I'm back from our recording session and must get some food into me. Briefly, Mr. Haines did himself proud, his voice held up remarkably well, as did mine. We actually got most of the album today - only four more songs tomorrow, plus just a couple of fixes on things we did today. Favorite track today - I'm Past My Prime with Miss Jessica Rush. She'd never been in a recording studio, and after one rehearsal and two takes she was done - perfection.

Have eaten and feel great.

Now, if both voice boxes can just hold up until tomorrow afternoon, we'll be in splendidly splendid shape. All your excellent vibes and xylophones worked wonders, and if we get our dose tomorrow I'm sure all will be well. The best thing is that we nailed the two hardest songs today - the two really rangy ones. I was especially happy with the Craig Carnelia song - all we have to do tomorrow is check one section to make sure Mr. Haines sang the proper notes. The other one, Born Too Late, we basically have the song except for the last four lines, which are very high. And actually, I could live with three of the four, we really only need the final line. That said, I think we'll do a safety take tomorrow just to have it.

Other tracks I was especially pleased with - Millions of Men and Getting Away With You. I have to listen one more time to Second Avenue, but I think we have two good takes plus some line fixes, so I'm fairly certain we have it.

Excellent war movie choices - I'm going to try several that I haven't seen. I'll be finishing Battle of the Bulge this evening. This thing was critically drubbed when it came out, but I must say I'm finding it thoroughly engrossing.

War Movies, eh? Well two of my favorites that I can think of are Hanover Street with Harrison Ford and Uncertain Glory with Mr. Errol Flynn.

I wish I was in NY so I could go see Anthony’s show! Lots of posts and pictures, please!

VixMom the software is called Singing Coach Unlimited. I only got to work with it about a half hour of Saturday morning. As you could see from the vocal range screen, I need a LOT of work. Send me a PM or E-mail and ask me what you will about the software. I will answer what I can.

I didn’t get to tell you all about the puppies I saw on Saturday. There was a new PetCo Store that opened so they had some of the rescue groups come in.

There was one puppy. Oh, how I wish I could have gotten her. She came right over to me and licked my fingers. She was black and white in color and had one blue eye and one brown eye. But two big dogs are more then enough for me to handle. The shots and meds and vet visits are all I can afford.

Hi, I'm back.

I've been spending a ton of time working on getting my lake house ready to sell, it's literally taken months. But, now it is on the market and hopefully will sell quickly.

I've also been traveling. I was in Phoenix for a few days and spent a week in New York, but my computer died as soon as I got there, so I was incommunicado while I was there.

I was there for a meeting, but I did manage to see Spamalot and Streetcar Named Desire. I was planning to see Spelling Bee. I wanted to go to the first Sunday Matinee but it was the only time my friend, Rupert Holmes, could have lunch with me, so I did that instead! It was great to see him again.

Anyway, it's been a very busy Spring.

BK, glad that you and Guy Haines got so much done today...good vocal chord vibes to you......
