Well, you've read the notes, the notes were thin, and now it is time for you to post until the thin cows come home.

Topic of the Day:  I've never seen any of the Thin Man movies, but my dad was a fan.  My niece is a fan of Myrna Loy and has a lot of her movies.  Otherwise, everything I ever learned about the Thin Man movies, I learned from the cast recording of Nick & Nora.

Well, after I got all of my invoicing done yesterday, I put together the reports so that the checks could be printed and the vendors paid.  However, I just realized that Iforgot to e-mail the reports to the person who uses them to actually print the checks! :o Dopey me!  So, I need to go to bed now so that I can get to work earlier than I normally do so that I can send them.  I don't have access to my computer here at home, so I have to wait until I get to work, but it needs to be done.

Have a good day, all!

In the 1970s I read all of Dashiel Hammett's novels, and I remember nothing about The Thin Man, novel or movie, but I remember that I liked them both.  I never saw any of the sequels.

Where we used to have a driveway, there is now a 700-foot-long river of frozen slush.

If it had been deep slush, you probably couldn't even drive over it. But the driveway was plowed so it's a thin but nevertheless uneven rocky surface. We just treated it with yet another 50-pound bag of salt and even more sand.

Thankfully, the sun is out and will help with the thawing, but a real thaw will happen starting tomorrow when we enter an actual warming trend, thank the gods.

So, the slush is thin and so is the man. Unfortunately, that man is not me, either.

I need to rid myself of 15 or 20 of my own pounds, and I know it isn't going to be easy. The eating, of course, is the great challenge for one who's seriously addicted to it. But I also plan on getting out and getting active once we're out of this dastardly winter.

The rumor in the forums is that the criterion.com semiannual 24-hour flash sale will be kicking off today at noon, eastern.

If so, or whenever it does, I'm following through with my plan to get the humongous THE ESSENTIAL FELLINI set, and for dessert I'll order The Parallax View. There are always more things out there, but those are my absolute essentials this time around.

Hmm. Slow morning here?

I have a near non-existent relationship with The Thin Man, too. It seems like one of those classic movie things that everyone adores. But if I ever saw it, it would have been at a revival house or in a film festival back in the '70s or '80s, and in truth I really don't remember actually seeing it.

TOD:

Loy:
Everything but Parnell

Powell:

I think Libeled Lady may be my favorite of them together.

That movie is so funny DR JOHNG.

I even like the remake EASY TO WED with Esther Williams, Van Johnson, Lucille Ball, and Keenan Wynn.

I just had a nice talk with our producer about Moonshine and Mistletoe and a possible TV holiday movie version.  Fingers are crossed!

Got my Criterions purchased by 12:04, and by 12:02 the website was already getting hosed. Which is always the way at the beginning. But you don't want your choices to sell out because the sale is for stock on hand, so get in early.
