Loved the discussion of poker in the notes.

I used to love playing it now and then. In theory, I still do, but it's probably been fifteen years or more since I've bothered playing it for the very reason BK describes, the predominance of Texas Hold-em and whatever endless variations there are.

What I loved was "neighborhood poker", just settling in for an evening of "dealer's choice" which would consist of draw and stud poker, of both the five- and seven-card varieties, with only a few permitted variations just for fun so the evening wouldn't get totally crazy. I was okay at it, not great, and I never had the nerve to sit down at it in a casino. But it's an amazing game.

In the mid-1990s I was attending a monthly Friday-night game with other friends at author Susan Brownmiller's apartment in the Village. The game, the food, drink, and camaraderie were wonderful. Eventually, people began introducing the newly popular Hold-Em games, and little by little, they became "it". For me, games that lasted beyond one hand and required mucho strategizing, ceased to be fun. But I was also getting involved in musical theater and other things up here, so I reluctantly dropped out. Some of the other folks were also getting into mah-jongg (sp?), of which I know nothing, and those evenings were morphing into that.

That's fascinating, though, about the L.A.-area clubs. I was around them a few times and walked through them in the course of doing other things with friends (maybe we ate there?), but when it came to poker, I never ventured outside the comfort level of a friend's house or apartment.

I do not have an immersion blender.  As a matter of fact, I had never heard that term until today!

What better way to get immersed in a topic than at HHW.

Thanks for that link, DR John G.  So bad it's good.  That poor hapless young woman.

You asked for it. Now with a barbershop quartet.

Yesterday was my first day of true awareness of the term immersion blender.

I don't have one, but I might go looking for it anyway in a show of solidarity.

I found mine about 15 years at Big Lots for the low, low price of $10. It has served me faithfully since. You do have to be careful and observant so you don't burn the motor out trying to blend a rock of undercooked potato.

My horoscope says I’m going to receive plural marriage proposals today. So, wish me luck. Maybe I’ll even know the people.

Chewy.com is a standout in this sorry world. We buy quite a bit at stores, but I think every order from there has gotten here the next day, and their customer service is great if you need it.

Of course deliveries are no problem because it's just to a house, so no lobby or other public area complications.

I love Chewy.com!  They just replaced my entire order at no charge, even though I'm only missing the 24 cans of tuna. morsels.

Hello Everyone!  the latest Broadway Radio Show is now up on the site.  This time I am chatting with producer/writer Jennifer Ashley Tepper about the latest volume in her wonderful series of books The Untold Stories of Broadway!  Lots of fascinating, fun stuff.  Check it out and I highly recommend the books -- they make for great reading for any Broadway fan!

Here's the book trailer for my stage play, CHARLTON HESTON.  It's available in paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon.

DR DRUXY have you seen an increase in productions of your One-Person plays or do you expect one as theaters begin to open?

I also picked up a metal mission-style table for the patio to hold the soon-to-arrive umbrella in place.

It looks really nice, but I had to assemble it myself. Lots of expletives were uttered during the process. And somehow it did not look like something a vision-impaired put together.

I was a fool, changed into a warmer top but forgot to put my warm waterproof pants on before walking.

At least the rain stopped and the sun came out before I was completely soaked.  My quick drying pants dried quickly in the sun.

Thanks to Parallax View, I checked All the President's Men out of the library. Starting to watch it. Haven't seen it in decades.

Then the wind picked up, the sun went away, and it began lightly raining as we were headed home.

I had no idea that the Dropbox on this computer kept all those files on my hard drive. No wonder I'm almost out of space. So, I Googled and it said to enable selective sync and then deselect all the folders that I'm not using - that removes them from the hard drive and makes them accessible online only at dropbox.com, which is fine. I did a few last night and that seemed to make no difference whatsoever, but I just did it for all the Kritzerland live shows save for the upcoming one and that should clear about forty or fifty gigs of space. If it doesn't, then I'll call them and see what I'm doing wrong. But it's currently resyncing about seven hundred files.  Those Kritzerland Live shows take up huge room, they're all around twenty gigs.

In a little while, I'll shoot the Indiegogo video and then I may make the barbecue thing, since I believe it's defrosted completely by now.
