I slept very well until 5:00 this morning, when Stella began to pester me and Annabelle leaped onto my bed from her bookcase aerie.  Those last 45 minutes were hell.

I really enjoyed REVENGE and the Q&A, but there was someone on the talkback who had a radio or TV on that was driving me crazy and then the sound got really wonky for a bit.  When I first joined HHW in 2004, we used to have chat nights, and I think a monthly or occasional HHW zoom would be a great deal of fun.

My little actress Annabelle and her cohort in crime, Thatch, enjoyed the show with me, and they've been acting the murder over and over again.  Watching Annabelle trying to hold a popsicle stick in her paw to stab Thatch is really pathetic.

DR ChasSmith, your cat is beautiful, and he looks huge! Do you know his weight? I think Stella's got to be around 15 lbs, and A&T are each around 10 lbs.

DR George, I love Our Town, and even a poor high school production can break my heart. There have been a couple of TV broadcasts, and I saw the one from 1977 with Hal Holbrook as the Stage Manager, Robby Benson, Ned Beatty, and others. I haven't seen it since then, but I found it on YouTube:

DR JohnG, are they performing the Sophocles tragedy Antigone or Anouih's version? I think either one can be quite wonderful, but I do prefer Anouilh.

BK, Encores! did not consider performing The Firebrand of Florence because Ted Sperling's group (Master Voices) performed it in concert with Victoria Clark in the Lenya role. I'm sure there are clips on YouTube from those sad Clark fans.

Roland Petit did choreograph a Broadway show, the dreadful 1982(?) revival of Cole Porter's Can-Can with disco arrangements and a cast srarring an over the hill Jeanmaire and Ron Hussman. Petit's choreography looked as if he thought he was doing a Vegas floor show, Jeanmaire's scrawny legs looked absolutely frightening in tights, and the best things about the revival were Avery Schreiber and Pamela Sousa as the artist and his model. I have this distinct memory that Swen Swenson was also in the production, which was beautiful to look at, but it Petit's work was so wrong.

I just found the poster on Google, and Swen Swenson was indeed in the show! I think I saw the last preview, and I don't think it ran more than a couple of weeks.

That’s Mikey, an all-American tabby who’s around 12 years old but still acts like a kid, and he is indeed heavy but the vet says he’s at a good weight. And now I forget what it was! Over 15 lbs, though. It’s time for his annual checkup so we’ll know soon. Maybe I can weigh him with me on the scale later. I don’t have a “small item” scale here.

Yes, there was extraneous noise coming from someone on the zoom session, like a radio or TV playing. And then the weird echo effect later, but we were winding down then. I agree with DR Elmore that we should have an occasional HHW zoom partay.

Good to see DR Ginny again, and I still forget there’s going to be long hair!  :)

It’s Sophocles.

We usually sell Season Tickets for $35, which is includes a ticket to each of four shows......your season ticket is always for the same night of the first or second week and it is always the same seat.

This season the tickets are ala carte - and all tickets are $10, our usual single session ticket price.

You choose what night you want to come to ALL shows you want to attend....but you can choose any or ALL of the shows.

The $$ included some folks' annual fund drive donation, so perhaps we'll find out at the ZOOM meeting today exactly how many tickets we have sold and to which shows.....we shall see.

I also enjoy OUR TOWN.....I played the choir director in a production.  It's a nice part.....and of course he ends up in the cemetery.
