I've had a spot of delish Artie's chicken noodle soup to wash down the vicodin - oh, God, what a culinary mess! - and I've done my 15 minutes in a hot tub of water.  I foolishly promised my beloved goddaughter I'd take her tomorrow to STAR WARS whatever THE SITH, and I look forward to my time with her.  I think I'll pick up the tickets on my way to Tower Records, so if I feel like hell tomorrow, I can at least give her the tickets, my love, and advise her to take a friend as my treat.  I think I'll be fine; I'm determined to not let this mess screw up my routine too much.

hello all,

trust you are all wonderfully fit and having a great day.

i used to have a wonderful book on ERTE.  the drawings were in a crayon style which gave a fabulous new dimension to the designs.  unfortunately, i lost it during a move.  (if anybody finds it, please send it back...!)

update on Tomovoz:

went to visit Tom yesterday.  he was sitting in his chair (picture Queen Victoria) and had had some of the tubing removed in the morning.  Fortunately, he is now starting to eat again although he says he does not possess much of an appetite.  Understandable.  All in all though it seems he is making great progress.

At this stage it looks like he will most likely be home on Tuesday.  I am sure you can all expect lots of lovely postings when he returns.

Have a wonderfully eventful day.

Cheers from Down Under.

DR MS many hours ago you asked about SACD - special playback equipment is recommended.

Here is a link to an article about Super Audio Compact Disk sound that explains all about DSD and bitstream, and all the rest.   ;D

I think that the big Time Square sign says:

"BK's in town!BK's in town!"...

Of course, there are some who say; "Who's BK!"
But we'll ignore them!

Must be the same who don't know who Guy Haines is, anyway!

Thanks for the update on Tomovoz, DR Ozderek!
Queen Victoria!! Wait till he reads this!! LOL!

Think! I'm still listening to 78rpms... so don't ask me about new sound technology!!

IF you are able to go, I think you will enjoy it, DR Elmore.  It's darker then the others--I wouldn't take a little kid to go see it--but like I said, I cried at the end.

LOL DR FRANCOIS....78 rpm records sound great.  And they are over so quickly!

Thanks for the TOM update OZDerek.  I will look for your ERTE book, but if I find it you may not get it back.

DR CP - I have all of those The (Studio Name) Story books - the only one I don't like at all is the UNIVERSAL one.  Mostly just a synopsis and cast list of films.

There is also one called THE HOLLYWOOD STORY by Joel Finler that discusses the histories of ALL the studios even the minor ones, with maps and timelines, etc., that is very interesting.

Back from a lovely meeting with the web designer who'll be doing the Kritzerland site.  Very nice gal, and I think she's going to do a great job.  We went over every aspect of what the site will be - each menu icon, how the splash page will look and work, and how all the sub-pages will work.  The neat thing will be that in addition to sound clips, we will also have video clips of our recording sessions, and video interviews and such.  We will also have an interview section for people who are connected with whatever CD we're hawking.  She seems to "get" my sense of humor and my personality, and the site will have that sort of fun to it.  She will begin work on it this coming week, and our target date to go "live" will be end of June, with our first releases being available mid-July.

I did read that one of my all-time favorite movies is coming to DVD this fall - Stanley Donen's TWO FOR THE ROAD. I'm sure Fox will do a smashing anamorphic transfer with this.

Also one of our all time favorite films.  I'm shocked it isn't already on DVD.

Jane- Carvel's is not bad, but not sort of bland in flavor. I do like their Flying Saucers though. Also, there aren't that many Carvel's in the city.
Lately, Baskin-Robbins seems to be making a comeback. Coldstone Creamery is really making a push, and there's always Ben and Jerry's.

NOT BAD!! Your are talking about my favorite soft ice cream. ;D  I still have some chocolate chrunchies, or whatever they are called, from from NY trip.  My niece found a store in Times Square and elmore says there is one at the train station.  I LOVE BR's but refuse to eat Coldstone & B & J's.

Lord protect us from a colorized Citizen Kane!  How about a colorized Birth of a Nation?  Why not colorize the Kansas scenes in The Wizard of Oz?

The Kansas scenes are colorized. They have been put through sepia wash.

Those who deny were screwing up our environment and eco-system have obviously not been in LA for the torrential rainpour earlier this year and for the stultifying heatwave we're presently having in May.  We usually don't get this kind of heat until August and September.  I've had a headache and been a limp rag all day.

All the East Coast Kimlet congregation have a lovely time with esteemed leader, BK...and post lots of pictures!

Sending you some feel good vibes DRLAURA.  Sad story, full of irony - but a nice tribute in a way, as well.
