On the upside, I’ve baked Richard a birthday breakfast coffee cake for tomorrow and I COULD SMELL IT!!!

Congratulations, DR Ginny, and welcome back the rest of the way!  :)

Well folks, this was truly a -- well, I guess we'll call it a ME day -- spent almost wholly on the couch watching just what I said I would watch, nothing more and nothing less, breaking only to eat and check in online a couple of times. I had half planned on bringing something to eat from the outside world, but I've decided to stay in and scrounge through the fridge.

The weather was ridiculous this morning and early afternoon, with yet another deluge, though thankfully, it had been a couple of weeks since the last one. A fine, fine day to stay in.

Good for you, ChasSmith!  You do what'cha gotta do!

DR CHAS SMITH mentioned one more mowing.....and I decided I should do that today.  I would rather mulch the leaves rather than blow them around....

So I mulched the front yard this afternoon.

I am TIRED.

Nice shower head George.  I like that it has the extra spray handle.  I miss the one we had in Ashland.

My previous shower just had one spray handle, but it was on a hose, so that was nice.  This one, since it has the main shower head and an extra spray handle, doesn't put out much water pressure because my faucet is the kind with one handle where you can only control the temperature.  I can't turn up the pressure, only turn up the heat. :-\

I think I might have to invest in a whole new faucet system, which might need an actual plumber to do the work. :P

I am going with my sister in the morning to bring my uncle home from the rehab joint.

I hope he is in a good mood.

Friday evening greetings!  I’d warned the person in charge that I might not make it to work at the holiday bazaar today if I had a booster reaction.  What I didn’t expect was being trapped in our house all day by the street repair crew that poured concrete and spent the rest of the day smoothing it over.  Hope they found someone else to take money at the bazar…

Wow.  Had you been warned it would take that long?

And?

I didn't love it like I did A Gentleman in Moscow.  I did like it, and better than Rules of Civility.

Something was going on with both bridges to Portland today backing up traffic, fortunately in the opposite direction we drove to the gym.

I had two good telephonic conversations with New World Records about this possible project, so that was progress, but most of the day was eaten up working on recording schedules and budgeting work.

Of the many reasons Keith wanted to switch to this gym was the location.  With the previous gym we would get caught in that those traffic jams when heading home.  Now we get off before the back-up.

To our shock, today we would have been caught in it.  Not only wasn't traffic moving in the opposite direction, when we exited the freeway onto the normally quiet street there was five times the usual number of cars.  They were all exiting the freeway and going back they way they came from.

The first line is Pericles. The last is Athens. I’m not finding anything for the middle line.

Still excited about the possibilities, Elmore.

BTW, I tried a reverse, English to Greek, to see if the middle line might be prince, but that  didn’t look right.

The closest I got was Xanthippoy, which could be a name. Like Pericles Xanthippoy of Athens.

The movie?  I am not familiar with the book.  Yes, lots to discuss in the book :)
