TOD:

I got my very own FIRST record player for my 12th birthday.  It was a single player with four speeds.....it was coral and white.  And it came from the Spiegal catalog.

Most entertaining and I kept it for a few years until I bought my own - that had an automatic changer.

The first two 45s that I bought were VACATION by Miss Connie Francis and ROSES ARE RED by Mr Bobby Vinton.

It's cold here.

TOD: I remember getting a child's record player. Mom bought me a record of Sound of Music, which confused me, because it wasn't Julie Andrews; it was Mary Martin.

Last night I was thinking about how long it has been since I've eaten a donut.

Today Preppy Kitchen is making donuts on Youtube.

Our first record player was an old 78rpm one. We kids also had a small child's player for small child's 78s. I believe I was around 6 or 7 when we got our first 4-speed player with the changer.

Whenever I'm watching Psycho and we see Norman's record player with a 78rpm copy of the 'Eroica' (off the top of my head I think that's what it is), I remember that first player we had. But I think we had just the fifth symphony.

In all the tributes to Sidney Poitier, I have yet to hear anyone mention Porgy and Bess.

Hard to write about something too many haven’t seen.

I actually have a bootleg of the unreleased Rose-Marie recording. I did not work on it. Its leading man is my former best friend and Wanda, the Indian temptress, was sung by my goddaughter's mother.

It was the first complete recording of the score, rather poorly conducted - he mangles the title song - and I prefer the RCA recording of excerpts with Julie Andrews.

I love the Julie Andrews recording.

I have much better luck with my pains with Advil rather than with Aleve.

Maybe I will start to take down Christmas decorations.

My niece and I are going to my mom's at 1:00 to take down her Christmas decorations and tree.  Then we'll have burgers for lunch.  Then I must usher downtown.

I have decided to stay home for the next few weeks. I'll watch church on zoom, and the only other meeting I have scheduled will probably be done by zoom, as well.

We've done it before; we can manage another couple of weeks.

I think that is an excellent decision.
