Well, you've read the notes, the notes caught up, and now it is time for you to post until the catching up cows come home.

Topic of the Day:  a lot of places have chicken sandwiches that have been pretty good.  I can't think of any that were bad.  Probably my favorite is from Red Wagon, a local burger joint.  They have a really good Grilled Chicken Burger (grilled chicken breast meat, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, Provolone cheese, house sauce) and Chicken Teriyaki Burger (grilled chicken breast meat, grilled pineapple, tomato, lettuce, pickles, onion, teriyaki sauce, Provolone cheese).  Both (and most of their food, too) come highly recommended by the likes of me. :)

If anyone's interested, OperaVision is streaming their post-produced version of the Palau de les Arts production of Madama Butterfly

According to the description:  "This production is now subtitled in English, Italian, German, French, Spanish and Valencian, and will be available until 19 June 2022."

Today, it's back to work after a three-day weekend.  Also tonight, I'm working concessions (barback, actually) for International Guitar Night XXII at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.  I'm looking forward to this.

It was a dark and stormy night. I slerpt poorly, and I have a sore throat because, I think, the dry heat in the apartment is killing me. I had lots of dreams, most of which I no longer remember.

I'm back to radiation this morning.  After two days off, I'm not looking forward  to going back into it.

I was rummaging around the kitchen while my coffee was brewing.

I was looking for something edible that had nutritional value.

What I found wasn't nutritious, alas.

Yes, i have no bananas today.  Augh!

The mention of chicken got my attention.

I love me some chicken.  Fried chicken, in particular.  My mom could fry some chicken, too.  I loved her fried chicken.

When I was in Naples, Italy, I lived in an area called Lago Patria.  It was north of Naples and a bit resort-ish inasmuch as folks had apartments or houses there that they would occupy in the summer, but would return to the city in the fall.  But there were lots of nice places to shop and eat all year long.

It was there, on the main Lago Patria strand that I discovered a roadside rotisserie.  It was not as big as a food truck, but it was large enough to have a rotisserie feature that let them roast up to ten chickens at a time.  The chickens were spatchcocked and seasoned to perfection.  All I had to do was pull over, pull out a 5,000 Lire note (which at the time had a value of about $7) and take my chicken home.  Boy was that good chicken!!!  My cats loved it, too!

Wow, that was a memory out of the dusty memory vaults!  I had forgotten about those wonderful chickens until the topic was suggested.

Did you see my ode to Brunswick stew yesterday, DR Ron Pulliam?

I did, I did, but forgot to mention it.

There was an old lady from Brunswick
Who ordered her stew with just one click.
The driver was late;
She stared at her plate.
"This stew is so cold it becomes thick!"

Did you think this one up yourself?  And why did you proffer apologies after???

Hmmm.  Well, keep your robe closed and do not relent if someone in the meeting suggests otherwise!

I did!

The apology was because it was so painful.
