DR Michael Shayne, all of the STAR WARS films are in 6.1 (EX or ES depending on whether you're listening to Dolby Digital or DTS sound). Pixar/Disney's TOY STORY 2 and the last three Pixar movies: MONSTERS, INC, FINDING NEMO, THE INCREDIBLES.

And I'll tell you a little secret: many of the most recent regular 5.1 Dolby DIgital DVDs will translate just fine into 6.1 if you activate 6.1 EX decoding. You have to do this manually (on my Pioneer receiver, it requires only the push of one button on the front panel), but it will work. On older films with DD soundtracks, it doesn't work, and the surround track collapses into the center back only, but for anything made since 2000, it should work just fine.

My friend Hal came to see the show last night. Since hooking up with his new partner three years ago, he's pretty much given up theater though we had previously done shows together (SCROOGE, BENT). After seeing the show, he called this morning and said he had the itch to do something again, and I reminded him about the upcoming OLIVER! auditions. He was immediately interested in Bill Sikes, so looks like LA CAGE will succeed in getting a talented actor to come back to the theater, and I couldn't be happier.

Yep, Mr. Butz's "Great Big Stuff" has been repeating in my head all week since the awards. And I think you might change you mind about Lithgow when you give the CD a listen to. He is so over the top on a few of his numbers but so perfectly so.

Also, Leo Butz sounds a LOT like a young Robert Morse on this recording. There are times I expect him to start singing "Rosemary!"

DVD player: I'm part way thru SIDEWAYS.

VCR: Last night's home renovation show on HGTV, THE BLOCK.

I'm curious, did anybody see last night's THE CUT (the new Tommy Hilfiger show). It had a very similar format to APPRENTICE. I like Mr. Hilfiger's stuff (especially the jewelry). And I actually quite liked this show. I wonder how it did in the Survivor CBS timeslot.

Last night the Vixter had her dress rehearsal for her dance recital, this is her 8th year dancng at this studio.

The klittle ones, 3 & 4 year olds are so adorable and the some of the older ones, in high school are very talented... and then there are the poor overweight, untalented ones that are crammed into a leotard three sizes too small and are constantly 1/2 a step behind the rest of the class...its painful to watch, but I give them a lot of credit for sticking to it and performing with a smile!

Yep, that's the one. I'll give it another go this weekend since I've switch to show tune mode now.

It sounds like something that should be listened to on head phones. They do a lot of cool subtle stuff on this one.
