The Senate just voted to abolish Standard Time and make Daylight Saving Time permanent. Now it goes to the House for a vote.

DR Laura I was surprised that Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) was on board with the change. I thought Arizona wanted to stay on Standard Time.

If I pay for my phone and the phone service, it seems I should have some say in who calls me. Telemarketers are absolutely without shame.

I understand it's a job, just as it used to be a job for people who went door-to-door selling magazine subscriptions. Yes, I sometimes subscribed just because the salesperson looked so hopeful.

But now, they call and you answer...and get no reply...and if you say hello again (and again) someone might start talking to you or you get a recording. I have zero patience with that. I say THEY should pay for that call, not me.
