I was doing I Remember Mama a few years back as Papa, and I had a scene that began with me clowning around with my youngest daughter with some sugar cubes. Curtain opens, lights up, me at kitchen table, NO DAUGHTER! I ad-libbed something lame like, "Such a morning!" It was a nightmare. Then as another actress shows up to cover, the daughter comes running on. She had been having fun with friends and forgot about her scene. Egads

Apparently he "got caught up in a conversation in the dressing room," causing his missed entrance.

I, too, played Papa once, back in high school. Don't recall my Dagmar ever being missing, thankfully.

I have a complete run, Volume one all the way through the current volume (a new one comes out later this year). All in jacket except five. It's amazing to see who was on Broadway back in the late forties and early fifties.

Blueberries, yeah. Having an army of kids as me mother did, she would take us to these U PICK places in Indiana. We'd be given plastic buckets and told to go fill them with blueberries. Take them home, freeze them. Cold blueberries on a day like today would be swell.

The Monkees have a tune called "Apples, Peaches, Bananas and Pears" which might hold the fruit-song record.
