Basically, if you were driving on a single lane road, and you suddenly came to a fork in the road, the tines of the fork would be your "divisi".  And then if the two tines every joined back up again, then that would mean they came back together "a due", "non divisi" or "unison".

Or if in a grade school choir, the soprano line suddenly went into two parts... With most of the young girls clamoring for the higher part.

And I have to say I'm feeling much, much better today.  I was in a "low cycle" the past couple of day - both mentally and physically.  Guess I just needed to truly take a few days off - even though I've basically been "off" the past couple of weeks.  In any case... Feeling much better today.

And my niece and nephew are currently keeping my father entertained and vice versa.  And I'll have to take a pic of Alyssa - she wanted to wear one of her dress-up dresses today - a very pink number with crinolines!  Very cute.

Good morning all
I am back to feeling like a human being.  The flu that has been going around my place of work for the last two weeks finally saw fit to visit me yesterday.  By mid afternoon I was aching from head to toe, curled up in bed trying not to move very much.  I slept for an hour or two, woke up at 6:30, dozed until 9, got up for a while and did some housework, went back to bed at 9:30 and slept until DB Jed came home at 1:30.  I thought I'd then have a heck of a time going back to sleep for the night, but I must have dozed back off again around 2, because the next thing I knew it was daylight.  
Feeling much better now, and I think I'll even make it to the final performance of Verdi this afternoon.  I'd hate to miss our final concert of the season.

Niece and nephew taking a little break now. -Boy, do these kids have a sweet tooth!  Of course, while doing laps of the house, Alyssa fell down,"went boom", and started crying for her "Poppa" - her grandfather.  So, I carried her down to him, and now she's napping on him while he's watching the Nationals game on TV.  John Michael wants to play trains downstairs, but Uncle Jojo thinks he needs a nap too right now.

I just had a chance to briefly go to kritzerland.com. Very nice congrats!  There is one thing that I noticed (not sure if it is somewhere). But is there a section on shipping costs? I know that BK you said it was $5 I believe for US.  But I know that when i order cds I like to be able to see in advance exactly how much everything will be (and if there are taxes...).

From the symptoms you've been describing, it actually sounds like you may be dealing with a bad case of acid reflux.    You could buy one of the five packs of Pepcid AC or similiar product, take one after eating your final meal of the day, and see if that helps come morning.

And try not to lie down flat on your back for three hours after your last meal.

I thought ypu might find this interesting. Comes from an article by Peter Filichia about actors who return to their roles on Broadway after a number of years.

....It's akin to going to a museum and seeing one of those statues that had been in ruins and has now been put together with cement making do for the missing marble, or listening to Carol Channing do Hello, Dolly! on the 1994 cast album, made 30 years after her first stint in the part. While Channing never had a great voice to begin with -- that was not the main source of her charm -- she's less certain here than she was then and sings to an occasional slower tempo. (The rest of the album sounds great.)

I know you have commented before about working with Miss Channing but what do you have to say about this?

How do you do those multiple quotes on one posting??

If you notice, they don't have the time/date stamps on them.  I do them manually.  I copy the text(s), and then "enclose" them in the quote coding - which is the penultimate button in the second row of YABBC on the Reply page - right before the bullet list option.  I also size everything to "2" since the default size for quotes is one.  There's also a weird "bug" in Safari that does not allow one to highlight the text then apply the tag, so I've gotten used to typing it all out manually lately.  It's just as fast for me doing it that way now.

It's similar to posting multiple pics WITHIN a post using the Image tag and URLs for the pics.

In other words...  *Replace the {} below with [] for things to work properly.

-The backslashes turn off the command.

And for images...

{img}INSERT URL HERE{/img}

And for hyperlinks where you want a word or phrase to be the link and not the URL itself...

This will make "INSERT WORD OR PHRASE HERE" appear in blue - or whatever default color your browser uses for hyperlinks.

I, too, drink NyQuil when I need it, and it knocks me out like a Seconal. Once I drink it, I can't stay awake more than a couple of minutes.

And I've never had any trouble with caffeine keeping me awake. Can drink a Diet Coke and fall asleep with no ill effects.

Speaking of Coke, I bought some Coke Zero at the store this morning and am drinking it now. Tastes like Tab to me.

Coke products were on sale this past week in Richmond - $2.25 for a 12-pack of cans.  So I bought a fridge pack of Diet Cherry Coke, and one of Coke Zero..

Of course, I just had to wonder what exactly is the difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke.  Both have "zero" calories.  I did notice a slight difference in the listing order of the ingredients, so... I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Oh, and then there's still that Coke C2....



I guess I could check out Coca-Cola's website... Hmmm...

This afternoon, I began by finishing up with BROADWAY: The American Musical.

Then, I put in THE GLASS BOTTOM BOAT, the one DVD out of the Doris Day Collection which I hadn't gotten around to. I had forgotten how overloaded with silly slapstick it was. The writing was rpetty witless and the extent of the comedy relies on all the silly physical slapstick, putting Paul Lynde in a dress, and Dom DeLuise doing his tired grown baby act. For compensation, there were some nice shots of a bare-chested Rod Taylor and it was nice to hear Doris sing a little. (However, whoever came up with that absurd cupie doll wig for Doris that she had to keep sweeping out of her mouth needed to be shot. She had the same hair design in CAPRICE, and it was even more in the way of her being able to talk.)

Anyway, after GLASS BOTTOM BOAT, I needed to see Doris in something better, so I popped in PILLOW TALK. What a difference a bright, witty script makes!

I haven't tried the Coke C2 (it's probably the forula for New Coke with simply a different name). Anyway, I MUCH prefer Diet Coke to Coke Zero. I'm glad I only bought one bottle of it.
