I like a media check when many folks are listening to/watching things given them by other HHW folks.

Most recently, I was listening to a pop hits collection sent to me by Tomovoz. Then I have some CDs from Elmore to enjoy. My next DVD is going to be one from MBarnum.

HHW, the gift that keeps on giving.

I have mucho catching up to do.  I've been busy working, sure, but I'm also guilty of soldiering over at another board, deflating the bigots and encouringing others.   The attaboys I've been getting have far outweighed the outrage (from the bigots, who don't like being punctured).

We'll see about that.

Say, while I was out of town, it seems like some people disappeared. Elmore told me Pogue was in his Old Kentucky Home, but I haven't seen WFO posting. Vixmom has been a rarity, though she did explain.

Note: I originally said TCB, but Mr. Orr is who I meant.

Don't waste all your knowledge on other boards, SWoody!

If  you have a CD burner, you could make a copy of the Spelling Bee CD and just leave off the offending song, if you wouldn't feel like too much of a censor doing so.

Glad that DRJOEY will get to see a CITIES workshop in NYC.  I know he is very HIGH on the show.

And who else but a college student from Indiana would use the expression:

"What the hay?"

As much as others may puzzle over Sondheim, etc....the real musical conundrum has been mentioned by DR RODZINSKI.

What does it mean, this monkey in my hatband?

Six o'clock, eh?  I fear it will be crowded then, because I'm sure I'm not the ONLY one who wants to beat the traffic.  Oh, well, I guess I'll just get there a little before six then.

Iris: That's what makes horse racing, although I have yet to hear the name of a show or performer or CD you didn't love.  I WISH I had that ability, but, unfortunately, I don't, at least not anymore.  Although, I never think I had it.

I didn't get up until 9:45 and my rehearsal is at eleven, so I'm going to have to get crackin'.

FRAPPE, baby, FRAPPE!

DR Ron, if you think missing the beginning of Big Brother was bad, imagine my delight when my tape ran out of space on Wednesday night at 8:50pm (missing the last 10 minutes of Dancing with the stars).  It's actually sort of funny to watch the entire season and then miss the end!

Oh well i read about it online (and was very happy). And luckily my tape included their freedance and judges opinions (just missed the actual scores).

Good Afternoon!

...Well, once I got back to my dorm room last night... I sat down on the bed for a just a bit... and the next thing I knew it was 3:00am...  I guess yesterday really was a long day... So... I did not end up going to Griff's last night as originally "planned"...  Well, you've seen one "special interest place", you've seen them all...

;)

...And I think that's enough ellipsisses - ellipsi (?) - for now.

Re:SLOW DOWN

I've spent most of this morning walking in the rain.  I woke up around 8:00, and finally got out bed around 9:15.  I headed over to Julie's for breakfast.  A very good breakfast, and some wonderful hosts/owners - a very hospitable Greek couple.  After breakfast, I walked around umbrella in hand just checking out the various storefronts near campus.  Nothing major, but some kitschy stuff.  -I would have taken pics, but my rechargeable batteries in my digital camera finally bit the dust.  Ah, well.

Then once I returned to my dorm room, I organized some stuff, and checked my voice mail back home.

I had some good calls - more bookings for gigs - and I had a couple of call from my bank asking me to contact them as soon as possibe.  Uh-oh...

It turns out that my check card number was one of those numbers that was "stolen" a few weeks ago.  So, they closed my account LAST week, and have been trying to mail me notices regarding the change in status of my account.  But since I've been having my mail forwarded, and official bank mail cannot be forwarded...  Once their central office got my mail back, they called me personally.  Pretty good customer service.

Now, the truly weird thing - and lucky thing - is that I've been weaning myself away from that account since it's based in Richmond.  I've had no checks floating, no auto-payments in process, etc., in over the past two weeks, and I've been using my check card and checks for my new "New York" account.  Whew!  And once I head back to Richmond on Monday, I'll take care of any necessary paperwork in person.

Again - Whew!

BK - I still remember some of those trips over to the rehearsal studio last summer...  People line up early to get into the Hollywood Bowl.  I have a feeling you'll be dealing with some sort of traffic regardless.  However, they do offer a shuttle service from various lots, so that may be an option.

...And I think you're big "problem" will be leaving the Hollywood Bowl...  However, if there's some sort of backstage reception afterwards, then maybe most of the "public" traffic will have died down by then.

OH!...

DRs elmore, Ben, Rodzinksi, et al...

What time were you thinking of heading out for Tex Mex and Margaritas?  I should be arriving at Grand Central around 11:30, and I was toying with the idea of catching a matinee of something or just walking around the city for a bit depending upon the weather.  As long as I'm on the 8:00 Amtrak back to DC...

Good morning, fellow Dear Readers.

I spent most of the morning at the ER. One of our members lacerated his hand shoveling landscape gravel when the shovel handle broke. Sixteen stitches, but he just barely missed damaging the tendon. So that much is good news.

Welcome, TPunk/Antonia/TheGal-----
I've heard such lovely things about you and look forward to meeting you one of these days.

BK, I don't LOVE every show, CD, or performer. I tend to discuss the ones that I do like, because I forget about the ones that I DON'T like.

I always take a collection of my favorite CDs to play in my car on the way home from the Hollywood Bowl. It helps me cope with the traffic delays. Hey, at least you'll finally get a chance to SLOW DOWN!
