No streetlights? How do kids know when to come in from playing outside?
Oh, that’s right, kids don’t play outside anymore.

I slept better than I have in a couple of days, so that was very nice, and this morning there was no kitty vomit, which is even more nice.

Yesterday morning, I posted on Facebook: Anyone looking for part-time work?

The last time I did, about three months ago, there were no takers. Yesterday, there were two, so I now have someone to come in once a week
to help me get this place in order: I've got things to Fed Ex to Ohio, books to donate to Connecticut libraries via our DR ChasSmith, and hopefully I can reclaim my living space.

I'm a bit giddy this morning about the good news of the Trump indictments but also because moronic Marjorie Toilet Greene confessed to a crime on Fox News: the stupid twit looked at the possibly bogus info on Biden bribes at the FBI, which the Freedom Caucus and gorilla Jim Jordan are trying to use for impeachment, left the secured room where the document was viewed, wrote dopwn what she remembered, and she's now flaunting it. I hope she and Trump end up in the same cell. It would be Sartre's No Exit: she wants to be Trump's vice president and I don't think she's Trump's type to grab and kitty.

DR JohnG, I can't speak of other Victorian translations, but I do know that the lesbian couple in Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo were downgraded to just good friends. Isn't Nana a great backstage novel? I love the scene of the madam giving the chorus girls their after-the-show assignments.

Either Meilhac or Halevy, the librettists for Offenbach's La Belle Helene, La Vie Parisienne, and La Perichole as well as Bizet's Carmen, gave Zola gossip about Offenbach's troupe, especially the scandalous Hortense Schneider.

So MTG did a Mozart? He did that with the Vatican's treasured 'Miserere Mei' by Allegri, copies of which were tightly controlled.

"Morning Joe" is reacting to an ABC news alert that the same judge who had ignored law and ruled in favor of Trump a year or so ago is now involved with the grand jury indictment in Florida.  She is the Trump appointee who was overruled by a federal district court.

Of course, they are examining this from all angles.  Until all is made clear, they are assuming that her name has come up because the grand jury is in her district.  Doesn't necessarily mean she will be assigned the case.
