Well, you've read the notes, the notes pondered the question of sink or swim, and now it is time for you to post until the sink or swim cows come home.

I like Falsettos a lot. I couldn't even count the number of times I've listened to that score.

I'm in the minority. I call this show AIDS for Dummies, and I detest its "something bad is happening" approach to a detestable plague that kliled off a large number of friends and colleagues. I hated it when I first saw it and I hated it when I had to sit through it again when my goddaughter Charlotte was in a production about ten years ago.

The weekend was a Sweeney Todd festival. On Saturday afternoon I listened to the broadcast of the Theatre du Chatelet production with my friends Rodney Gilfry and Caroline O'Connor as Sweeney and Mrs Lovett. Yesterday I listened to the BBC broadcast of the 1993 National Theatre of Great Britain production, which was broadcast at the end of its run. Curiously, my friend Denis Quilley, who played Sweeney in the original 1980 London production, played the role again in the broadcast, although during the run at the National Theatre he played Judge Turpin.

It was very interesting to hear Jonathan Tunick's fantastic original orchestration played by 46 musicians in Paris one day and then to hear the small (9 musicians) orchestration he wrote for the 1993 production.

Denis Quilley also has the distinction of playing Candide in the original 1958 London production of Bernstein's comic operetta.

Today my helper Mario returns, and I'm hoping we can finish putting away the books still sitting on the floor and add a few more titles to those Connecticut library cartons.

Rodzinski, isn’t the removal of blackberry bushes a plot device in Where Did You Go, Bernadette?

On the news this morning: an apartment building not a mile from where I live burned to the ground overnight. Fatalities unknown.

Fireworks were noted in the area just before the fire started.

Also, youths have been arrested for shooting fireworks directly at police cruisers.

I got rear ended on my way to work. It did nothing to the car. Except for a small scratch.

Given my propensity for whiplash, I should probably seek out a massage.

A gracious good Monday morning.

Here it is, the 10th of July 2023.

And here I am still mentally back in March.

I began watching the series "Rome" on Max yesterday.

I have, of course, seen the entire series.

It is quite wonderful to watch it again and rediscover all the wonderful things that are literally crammed into it, physically, visually and intellectually.

It was very ambitious and much of that ambition was well realized.

The house is quiet, the skies are gray and a bit dark at the moment.

Forecast is for showers and thunderstorms.  High is expected to be 78 degrees (of temperature) and the low should be around 67 degrees (of temperature).

Brrrr!

Haven't stuck my head out the door yet, so I am imagining it is a bit humid despite the coolness.

Excellent night of sleep.

Dreamed many dreams, one of which remains.

A co-worker has a friend who is in hospital and may die momentarily.  He was on the phone with the friend and the friend was grouchy and hung up before my co-worker could learn more.

So...he asked me to find the man's home phone number so that he could call there.  He said that his former secretary had the number and I could get it from her book.

The only problem I had was that his former secretary hadn't been in the office for more than 30 years, and there was no book I could find.

To make matters worse (as it were), my desk was very well-organized but I couldn't find a phone directory anywhere.

I was glad to awaken.
