Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

I saw the show early in that run.  He gave a great performance.

Has anyone ever watched Senior Trip (1981), the film that much of the cast of Merrily played in while they were waiting for Merrily to go into production?

Aaron Tveit was the lead and Kerry Butler played his girlfriend/wife.  They were both really good, too.

DR Elmore - I picked up a copy of the McGlinn Show Boat CD set the other day when I saw it languishing, unloved, for $1 dollah. It's not the first time i've done this. I can't stand to let certain things go wasted, or get scarfed up by a dealer. This time I don't have someone immediate to hand it to, so if you keep a stash for giveaways or whatever, let me know and I'll bring it. If you don't need it, say the word and I'll find someone who will fully appreciate it.

I just received a proof for the newspaper ad for The Play That Goes Wrong.

It had the wrong ticket price and a logo for The Miracle Worker.  But the dates were right.

Oops!! ;D

Coming Sept. 15, 80 years after its premiere. I was just emailing John Wilson about this and the complete CAROUSEL. Nate Hackmann, who plays Curly, sang "They Call the Wind Maria" on the Encores! recording of Paint Your Wagon.

That's so cool!

I've done that, too.  I bought the McGill Show Boat when it was first released, but I just looked and saw that I bought it again in 2019 for the princely sum of $3.23 + shipping and tax!

I also got me a copy of John McGlinn's recording of Sitting Pretty, which I never had and haven't heard.

There's a number in Act Two of Sitting Pretty, "Shadow of the Moon," that was orchestrated by Max Steiner; it's one of the most beautiful and impressionistic pieces of music, absolutely glorious. The overture with its unresolved ending is also a stunner.

Thanks, but I will pass. I don't have much reason these days to pass out demos or give copies away to deserving kids. You'll work with someone who could use the set.

I enjoyed it, especially Norbert Leo Butz’s performance.
