Our second house in Michigan was much more fun as it had a finished basement with games to play.

Bathtub
Yes! Bathtubs can be a very good place to hide. Usually, these are very tightly screwed to the ground. You cannot very easily pull these out of their bases. Many times, it has been seen that bathtubs are among the very few things that survive the devastation of a tornado. Get a mattress and get inside the tub and pull the mattress over your body. This will give you cover from all the sides.

Hopefully you won't need a mattress.

Not able to pick up a heavy mattress by myself, however.

A heavy blanket will suffice.

I don’t think it will get to that point.
Staying positive.

I agree about the blanket.

To my surprise, even though people are saved by driving there cars into the underpass during a tornado, it is not a good idea.

Finished the second Dave Brandstetter mystery today. I may devour the rest of Joseph Hansen’s series in too big a rush.

I take back my own comments.

I hated both Last Tango in Paris AND Cries and Whispers.

What was I thinking?

I explain it this way:

A “watch” means that I have all of the ingredients necessary to make cupcakes.

A “warning” means that I am eating cupcakes. Right now.

I remember when tornadoes ripped through Louisville back in the early 1970s. Horrible day.
April 3-4, 1974. 330 people died in that spree.

Oh, my goodness!

I futzed and finessed when I got up, then sent 100 pages to Muse Margaret. Got a tri-salad from Art's and that was excellent. Then wrote the five pages. Took a break. I'll try to write a few more.

Sterling Hayden’s Swedish accent is laughably bad.

OMG!

We are a year away from the Republican National Convention, yet every newscast is Trump! Trump! Trump!   Either he is mouthing off and getting into trouble with a federal judge, despite a warning he could be jailed, or we are hearing how he is so far ahead of every other declared GOP candidate.

Sick, sick, sick of Trump, Trump, Trump!

How in hell did we ever stoop to this level of idiocy in this country??
*********
Ron, I feel the exact same way.
I have always watched MSNBC, but I’m taking a break.
I will no longer post news about Trump, unless and until he has been jailed. Or gone, no matter how.

John, I understand why one would love Cries and Whispers. There is much to admire and appreciate.
It was way too painful and depressing for me, and one particular scene gave me nightmares for months.

Beautifully filmed, however.

All quiet on the eastern front.
For now, at least.

I am thankful.

It was a horror movie in the truest sense. Stayed with me a long time. Made me dislike red for a while too.
